Metrofone is a UK-based online mobile phone retailer that specialises exclusively in deals on the EE network. The brand is operated by KTM Online Limited, the same parent company that runs Fonehouse, following the joint acquisition of both brands in 2018 by a venture led by former Mobile Phones Direct CEO Ben Branson alongside partners from GreenTech Distribution.

Unlike Fonehouse, which has a high street presence, Metrofone is online-only and runs from a UK call centre and headquarters in Bracknell, Berkshire. The company focuses on contract deals, upgrades, SIM-only plans and SIM-free handsets, with cashback offers used heavily as a way to bring down the effective monthly cost of EE plans.

By concentrating on a single network, Metrofone has built a focused EE specialist offering rather than a broad multi-network marketplace. This allows the company to negotiate competitive pricing and bundle promotions tied to EE perks like Apple Music and BT Sport. The trade-off for customers is that anyone wanting O2, Vodafone, Three or any other UK network has to look elsewhere.

Delivery

Metrofone offers free next day delivery on every order, with dispatch available seven days a week. Deliveries are typically fulfilled by DPD. There is no click and collect option as Metrofone has no physical stores.

Cashback & Offers

Metrofone offers both automatic and redemption cashback depending on the deal. Automatic cashback is paid out after 90 days with no action required, while redemption cashback requires customers to log in and submit claims at specific billing months (typically months 3, 5, 7, 9 and 12 on a 12 month contract, or months 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 on longer contracts). Each claim must be submitted within 60 days of the relevant network bill.
