Is VOXI down? How to check VOXI network status

VOXI is Vodafone's own brand and runs on Vodafone's network, so the quickest way to confirm an outage is Vodafone's network status checker: enter your postcode, no login needed. VOXI's own checker only shows coverage. If Vodafone shows no problem, check your VOXI plan is active, then restart your phone and try Wi-Fi Calling.

Check the official network status

This is Vodafone's status checker. VOXI is a trading name of Vodafone Limited and uses Vodafone's network, but VOXI's own network coverage checker only shows predicted coverage bands on a map, not faults or planned work. Vodafone's checker needs no login: enter a postcode or use your location and turn on Show Network Status to see known problems.

Is it VOXI or your phone?

  1. Check Vodafone's network status checker with your postcode. VOXI runs on Vodafone's network, so if Vodafone shows a problem or planned work nearby, it is a network fault and there is nothing to fix on your phone.
  2. Sign in to your VOXI account and check My plan. VOXI says that if you can receive calls and texts but can't make them, you may not have an active plan. After a failed payment VOXI retries for two days and opts you out on day 3.
  3. Ask someone nearby on VOXI, or on Vodafone, Lebara, Asda Mobile or Talkmobile, which also run on Vodafone. If their phone works and yours does not, the problem is more likely your phone, SIM or account.
  4. Turn flight mode on and off and restart your phone. VOXI also suggests checking you haven't set a roaming bar, that your phone is unlocked, and removing third-party calling or text apps such as TrueCaller or Textra.
  5. If you have Wi-Fi, turn on Wi-Fi Calling so you can still call and text.
  6. Look for other people's reports on @VodafoneUK and Downdetector (downdetector.co.uk), which shows user reports, not Vodafone data. During the 13 October 2025 outage Vodafone's status page could not be reached at all.

Outage, or weak signal where you are?

If VOXI's checker shows no known problem, check how strong its signal should be at your postcode. This uses Ofcom's coverage data, not live status.

Try:

VOXI runs on Vodafone

VOXI has no masts of its own. It uses Vodafone's network, so a Vodafone outage usually affects VOXI and these other brands too.

VOXI not working? Fixes to try

You can receive calls and texts but can't make them

This usually means you don't have an active VOXI plan. If a payment fails, VOXI tries your card once a day, keeps your benefits for 2 days and opts you out on day 3. Update your card in your VOXI account and restart your plan.

No signal or SOS only

SOS or "Emergency calls only" means your phone cannot connect to the network. Check Vodafone's status checker, turn flight mode on and off, restart, check your phone is unlocked and make sure you haven't set a roaming bar in your account.

Mobile data not working

Text WEB to 40127 (free) to get your data settings, or enter them yourself. VOXI's settings are name Vodafone internet, APN wap.vodafone.co.uk, username wap, password wap, authentication none and APN type default, mms, supl.

Unlimited social, music or video data stopped working

If you use up the general data on your plan, VOXI makes your unlimited social media, music and video passes inactive until your plan renews. A VPN, proxy or iCloud Private Relay also makes all your use count against general data, and the passes don't apply abroad. Turn those off and keep the apps up to date.

Calls fail on an older phone

Vodafone switched off its 3G network in early 2024, so phones without 4G fall back to 2G. VOXI says that if your phone supports 4G Calling you already have it, and points to Vodafone's device guides to check compatibility.

Weak signal indoors

Turn on Wi-Fi Calling in your phone's settings. It is free on every VOXI plan with a compatible phone. VOXI says Wi-Fi Calling only kicks in when you can't connect to the mobile network.

New SIM, eSIM or moved number not working

VOXI says an eSIM, and your online account after activation, can take up to 24 hours to appear. A number transfer requested before 5pm completes the next working day, or 2 working days after 5pm. If it's late, VOXI adds £1 credit for every working day automatically.

Past VOXI outages

  • 20 October 2025

A mast in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire was removed at the landowner's request, leaving Vodafone and O2 users with weak or no signal and warnings it could last into early 2026. ISPreview didn't name VOXI, but VOXI customers there rely on the same Vodafone masts.

  • 13 October 2025

Vodafone's broadband, 4G and 5G data failed across the UK from about 3pm, with more than 130,000 Downdetector reports by 4pm. The BBC reported a similar spike in reports from VOXI users. Vodafone blamed a non-malicious software issue with a vendor partner, and its status page could not be reached during the outage.

  • 10 January 2024

From just after 6am, Vodafone customers across the UK had patchy 4G and 5G mobile data and some texting problems, and Vodafone confirmed a fix by 2:15pm. ISPreview's report did not name VOXI, but VOXI uses the same Vodafone network.

Can you get compensation for a VOXI outage?

VOXI's terms say that if it interrupts service for maintenance or because of a technical fault on its network, you may be entitled to a partial refund based on the number of days you are without service. If you have a materially degraded service for an unreasonable period, you can cancel at any time. To claim either, you must report a severe disruption, which VOXI assesses against your usual usage. Ofcom's automatic compensation scheme covers landline and broadband only.

Fed up with VOXI outages?

Switching to a brand on the same network will not help during an outage, because it uses the same masts. A SIM on a different network will. You keep your number by texting PAC to 65075.

VOXI outage FAQs

Is there a problem with VOXI today?
We can't tell you live. VOXI's own checker only shows coverage, so the official answer is Vodafone's network status checker, which shows known problems and planned work for your postcode on the network VOXI uses. If it shows nothing, check your VOXI plan is active before assuming an outage.
What network does VOXI use?
Vodafone. VOXI is a trading name of Vodafone Limited. Since the Vodafone and Three merger, VOXI says its customers can also connect to Three's masts, automatically where technically available, as part of what it calls the combined Vodafone and Three network.
If Vodafone is down, is VOXI down too?
Usually, yes. VOXI, Lebara, Asda Mobile and Talkmobile all use Vodafone's network, so a Vodafone network fault normally affects them. The BBC and The Independent reported that VOXI users lost service in the 13 October 2025 Vodafone outage. Access to Three's masts can help with a local mast fault, but not with a fault in Vodafone's core network.
Why can I receive calls but not make them on VOXI?
Most likely you don't have an active plan. VOXI says this is the usual cause, and a failed payment opts you out of your plan on day 3. Sign in to your VOXI account, check My plan and update your card. If your plan is active, check for a roaming bar and try a restart.
Does VOXI have a phone number to report an outage?
No. VOXI has no call centre, and support is by web chat from 8am to 10pm, seven days a week, or by message on Facebook or Instagram. The 0808 005 7463 line is for complaints and for customers with accessibility needs, and 08080 057 451 is for getting a PAC.
Will VOXI compensate me for an outage?
Not automatically. VOXI's terms say a technical fault on its network may entitle you to a partial refund based on the days you were without service, and a long, serious fault lets you cancel. You must report the disruption to VOXI to claim. Ofcom's automatic compensation scheme doesn't cover mobile.
How long do VOXI outages usually last?
National Vodafone outages that hit VOXI are usually fixed within hours. The January 2024 data problems started just after 6am and Vodafone confirmed a fix by 2:15pm, and the 13 October 2025 outage started mid-afternoon and was recovering that evening. Local mast problems can take months.
Can I call 999 if VOXI is down?
Usually, yes. Ofcom says that when a mobile network is down, a phone should be able to roam onto another network to make an emergency call. VOXI's terms add that a 999 call over Wi-Fi Calling only happens when there's no mobile network, and then the emergency services can't find your location automatically. If a 999 call won't connect, use a landline or someone else's phone.
