VOXI eSIM: how to get one, what it costs and which phones work

Yes, VOXI supports eSIM on every 30-day SIM only plan, including the VOXI For Now social tariff. VOXI lists no separate eSIM fee, so you pay only the plan price. New customers pick eSIM at checkout. Existing customers swap in VOXI online under Settings > Manage my SIM. Scan the QR code from your email and you can be connected in about 10 minutes.

How to get a VOXI eSIM

New customer

  1. Check your phone is on VOXI's eSIM compatible list.
  2. Pick a SIM only plan on voxi.co.uk and choose eSIM at checkout.
  3. If you want to keep your number, add your PAC while ordering (text PAC to 65075 from your old network to get one).
  4. Pay for the plan. VOXI emails you a QR code to install the eSIM.

Existing customer switching from a physical SIM

  1. Sign in to VOXI online.
  2. Go to Settings > Manage my SIM.
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to request an eSIM.
  4. Scan the QR code you are sent. Your number and plan stay the same.

Buying a phone from VOXI

  1. Order the phone with a VOXI plan. The eSIM profile is linked to that handset.
  2. When it arrives, switch it on and connect to Wi-Fi.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to download your VOXI eSIM.

Moving your eSIM to a new phone

  1. In VOXI online, go to Settings > Manage my SIM and request an eSIM transfer.
  2. Delete the eSIM from your old phone within 12 hours, or the transfer is cancelled.
  3. Install the new eSIM on your new phone.
  4. On a compatible iPhone you can use Apple Quick Transfer instead. You can also ask for help in live chat or at a Vodafone store.

Activating your VOXI eSIM

  1. Open the VOXI setup email on a different device, such as a laptop, so your phone camera is free.
  2. Scan the QR code with your phone's camera and follow the prompts.
  3. No second device? Enter the eSIM details by hand. They are attached to the same email.
  4. If your phone already has a SIM, choose the VOXI eSIM for mobile data and as your default number. You can change this later.

Most VOXI eSIMs work straight away, but activation can take up to 24 hours. If it takes longer, contact VOXI. Setup uses a QR code from your email; phones bought from VOXI download the eSIM on first start-up over Wi-Fi.

Which phones work with a VOXI eSIM

VOXI publishes an eSIM compatible list on its eSIM page. It covers iPhone XS and XR onwards, Samsung Galaxy S20 and later plus Z Fold and Z Flip models, Google Pixel 3 onwards, and selected Honor, Motorola, OPPO, Sony, Xiaomi, Nokia and Fairphone phones. Most new phones have eSIM built in, but some still take only a physical SIM, so check before you order.

If your VOXI eSIM is not working

You can't scan the QR code because the email is on the same phone.

Open the email on another device and scan it from there. If you only have one device, type in the details attached to the email.

The eSIM is installed but not working yet.

Activation is usually instant but can take up to 24 hours. After 24 hours, contact VOXI through voxi.co.uk/contact-us.

Calls or data are going through your other SIM.

In your phone's SIM settings, set the VOXI eSIM as the line for mobile data and as your default number.

Your eSIM transfer to a new phone was cancelled.

After requesting a transfer online, you must delete the old eSIM within 12 hours. Request the transfer again and remove the old eSIM in time.

Is a VOXI eSIM free?
VOXI does not list an eSIM charge in its help pages or charges guide. You pay for your 30-day plan, and nothing is posted to you.
Can I keep my number with a VOXI eSIM?
Yes. Text PAC to 65075 from your current network to get a PAC, then enter it when you order or later in the Transfer number section of your VOXI account. PACs last 30 days. Coming from Vodafone or Talkmobile works differently, so check VOXI's help pages first.
How do I move my VOXI eSIM to a new phone?
Request a transfer in VOXI online under Settings > Manage my SIM, then delete the old eSIM within 12 hours. Compatible iPhones can use Apple Quick Transfer. Live chat and Vodafone stores can also help.
Can I use a VOXI eSIM with a physical SIM in the same phone?
Yes, on a dual SIM phone. Your VOXI account holds one SIM, but the phone can run a VOXI eSIM alongside another network's physical SIM, for example a Vodafone number.
Does a VOXI eSIM work abroad?
Yes, as long as you activate it in the UK before you travel. Most of Europe needs a European Roaming Pass. Ireland, the Isle of Man, Iceland and Norway are included in every plan.
Can I switch from eSIM back to a physical SIM?
Yes. Contact VOXI through live chat and they will post you a new physical SIM.
What if my phone is lost or stolen?
If it was stolen, report it to the police first. Then chat to VOXI. They can block the phone, give you proof of barring for your insurer and arrange a replacement SIM.
How long does a VOXI eSIM take to activate?
Usually straight away. VOXI says you can join its network in as little as 10 minutes, though activation can sometimes take up to 24 hours.
