About the Xiaomi Poco F9 Pro
Xiaomi has not fully announced the Poco F9 Pro yet, with the global launch event set for 1 September 2026, so most of the detail below is expected rather than confirmed. Poco has stated that it runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V series, a variant of the chip in the F9 Ultra with fewer GPU slices and less high-performance memory, so graphics throughput sits a little below the Ultra's. Poco has also confirmed a 185Hz display and Bose-tuned speakers, without the 2.1 subwoofer arrangement the Ultra gets. Measured against the F8 Pro and its older Snapdragon 8 Elite, that is a real generational step for the smaller model. The rest comes from pre-launch listings: a 200MP main camera in place of the F8 Pro's 50MP sensor, a 6,330mAh battery, and 50W wireless charging, which the F8 Pro did not offer at all. The expected 218g weight is up on the F8 Pro's 199g, so the light and compact argument may not carry over. None of it has been independently reviewed yet.

Xiaomi Poco F9 Pro Specifications
Spec Scores
£400-£699 Phones · 67 phones
- Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
- Octa-core (2x4.6 GHz Oryon V3 Phoenix L + 6x3.62 GHz Oryon V3 Phoenix M)
- 12GB RAM
Based on calibrated CPU benchmark rankings (60%) and GFXBench GPU scores (40%). Apple chipsets included via editorial calibration since AnTuTu under-represents Apple's architecture.
- 6.59 inches
- 1156 x 2510 pixels
- AMOLED, 185Hz, 4500 nits peak
Based on panel type (LTPO is the modern flagship gold standard), resolution, refresh rate, peak brightness, screen size, and HDR10+ / Dolby Vision support. Marketing peak-brightness claims are capped at 3500 nits to prevent inflation.
- Single camera setup
- 200 MP main camera
- 4K video recording
Based on main-sensor size (1-inch / 1/1.3" beats 1/2.0"), telephoto reach (periscope > 5x > 3x optical), image processing tier (Apple Pro, Pixel Pro, Galaxy Ultra, Honor Magic Pro, Xiaomi Ultra), pro video features (ProRes, Apple Log, Dolby Vision), camera-partnership branding (Leica, Hasselblad, Zeiss) and OIS. Older flagships are de-rated since image processing pipelines have advanced significantly each generation. Megapixel count is deliberately downweighted — it correlates poorly with real-world camera quality. Where DXOMARK has lab-tested the phone, its measured score replaces this estimate.
- 32 MP front camera
- 4K selfie video
Based on the image-processing tier (Apple Pro, Pixel Pro, Galaxy Ultra and Honor Magic lead on computational processing), sensor resolution in tiers rather than raw megapixels, autofocus, aperture and max selfie-video resolution. Calibrated against DXOMARK's selfie protocol.
- 6,330 mAh
- 100W wired, PD3.0, QC3+, 100W PPS
Based on battery capacity (mAh) adjusted for platform efficiency calibrated against NotebookCheck, Tom's Guide, GSMArena and CNET reviewer tests. Apple A-series gets +45% (iOS process freezing + LTPO 1Hz + tuned panels make iPhone Pro Max outlast many 6500+ mAh Android phones in measured tests). Top Snapdragon / Dimensity flagships get +15%, budget chipsets are penalised −15% to −25% to reflect less efficient displays and looser background limits. Charging speed is excluded — see the separate Fast charging tag for that.
