Black Friday 2025 is fully underway, and the UK mobile networks have come out swinging. We have spent the past 48 hours sifting through hundreds of contracts, pay monthly tariffs and SIM-only plans to find the ones that actually represent a genuine saving - rather than the old trick of hiking a price in October and then "slashing" it back in November.
Top pay monthly deals

SIM only stars
If your current handset still has life in it, SIM only is where the real long-term savings are. Smarty has brought back its 100GB 5G plan for £8/month on a one-month rolling contract, while Lebara is offering 50GB for £5/month for three months on a 12-month term. For heavy users, Voxi's unlimited 5G plan has dropped to £16/month, undercutting the equivalent Vodafone tariff by almost half.
Trade-in trickery to watch for
Not everything that glitters is gold. A few of the bigger high street retailers are still quoting savings of up to £800 "with trade in", when in reality you are trading a phone worth £500 against a contract loaded with hidden costs. Always check the total contract price, the mid-contract price hike policy and whether the trade-in value matches what you would get on musicMagpie or Backmarket.
What happens after Black Friday?
Historically, a handful of the best deals roll straight into the first week of December, particularly on pay monthly contracts where networks are still trying to hit quarterly sales targets.
