About the Xiaomi Poco X7

The Poco X7 is the more design-led of the two X7 models, trading the Pro's raw speed for a curved screen and a lighter body. Its 6.67-inch quad-curved AMOLED panel is the same 1.5K resolution as the Pro's and gets bright enough to read outdoors, and at around 185g it sits more comfortably in the hand than most phones with batteries this size. MediaTek's Dimensity 7300-Ultra is a capable everyday chip rather than a gaming one: social apps, streaming and light gaming are smooth, but it is paired with slower LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage, so it will not feel as instant as the Pro under load. The 5,110mAh battery gets through a full day without difficulty, though 45W charging is more leisurely than Poco's faster models. The camera set-up leans on a stabilised 50MP main sensor that does the heavy lifting, with an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro that are best treated as extras. IP68 protection at this level is a genuine bonus.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Poco X7 worth buying?
Yes, if you want a curved AMOLED display and a comfortable, lightweight design without spending flagship money. Everyday performance and battery life are both solid. If you play demanding games or want faster charging, the Poco X7 Pro is the better fit.
What is the difference between the Poco X7 and the Poco X7 Pro?
The X7 has a curved display, a lighter 185.5g body and a third rear camera, while the Pro is flat-screened and heavier. The Pro is considerably faster thanks to the Dimensity 8400-Ultra and UFS 4.0 storage, and it carries a larger 6,000mAh battery with 90W charging against the X7's 5,110mAh and 45W.
Is the Poco X7 waterproof?
The Poco X7 is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance, which covers rain, spills and short periods of immersion. That is strong protection for a phone in this bracket. Liquid damage is normally excluded from warranty cover, so it is a safety net rather than a licence to swim with it.
How good is the Poco X7 camera?
The 50MP main camera has optical stabilisation and produces sharp, well-balanced daylight photos, and it can record 4K video at 30fps. The 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro are noticeably weaker and are best used sparingly. There is no telephoto lens, so zoom is digital only.
How long does the Poco X7 battery last?
The 5,110mAh battery reliably covers a full day of mixed use, helped by the efficient 4nm Dimensity 7300-Ultra chip. Charging is 45W wired with the adapter supplied in the box, which is slower than the 90W on the Poco X7 Pro. There is no wireless charging.
Does the Poco X7 have a headphone jack or expandable storage?
No, the Poco X7 does not include a 3.5mm headphone jack, and storage is fixed at either 256GB or 512GB with no microSD slot. It does have stereo speakers. If you need a headphone jack and a card slot, the Poco M7 Pro 5G keeps both.

Based on main-sensor size (1-inch / 1/1.3" beats 1/2.0"), telephoto reach (periscope > 5x > 3x optical), image processing tier (Apple Pro, Pixel Pro, Galaxy Ultra, Honor Magic Pro, Xiaomi Ultra), pro video features (ProRes, Apple Log, Dolby Vision), camera-partnership branding (Leica, Hasselblad, Zeiss) and OIS. Older flagships are de-rated since image processing pipelines have advanced significantly each generation. Megapixel count is deliberately downweighted — it correlates poorly with real-world camera quality.

Based on battery capacity (mAh) adjusted for platform efficiency calibrated against NotebookCheck, Tom's Guide, GSMArena and CNET reviewer tests. Apple A-series gets +45% (iOS process freezing + LTPO 1Hz + tuned panels make iPhone Pro Max outlast many 6500+ mAh Android phones in measured tests). Top Snapdragon / Dimensity flagships get +15%, budget chipsets are penalised −15% to −25% to reflect less efficient displays and looser background limits. Charging speed is excluded — see the separate Fast charging tag for that.
