Xiaomi Poco F5 Deals - August 2026

About the Xiaomi Poco F5

The Poco F5 was built around one idea: give people flagship-class speed without asking them to pay flagship money. The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 inside it was, at launch, unusually quick for a mid-range handset, and three years on it still handles everyday Android, social apps and most mobile games without the stutter you get from cheaper chips of the same era. The rest of the phone is sensibly judged rather than showy. You get a 6.67-inch OLED panel running at 120Hz, a 5,000mAh battery that comfortably clears a day, and 67W charging that refills it quickly. At 181g it is noticeably lighter than most phones with a battery that size, and Poco kept the 3.5mm headphone jack, which is increasingly rare. The compromises are real: IP53 means splash resistance only, the ultrawide and macro cameras are ordinary, and there is no wireless charging. As a used or clearance buy in the UK it makes most sense for someone who cares about responsiveness and battery life more than camera polish.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Poco F5 worth buying?
It is worth considering if raw speed per pound is your priority, because the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 still outruns many newer mid-rangers. Be realistic about the trade-offs, though: the secondary cameras are basic, water resistance is only IP53, and as a 2023 phone it is further through its software life than a current model.
Does the Poco F5 have a headphone jack?
Yes. The Poco F5 keeps a 3.5mm headphone jack alongside its USB-C port, so wired headphones work without an adapter. That is unusual for a phone of this performance class and a genuine reason some buyers pick it.
How good is the Poco F5 camera?
The 64MP main camera has optical image stabilisation and produces solid daylight shots and usable night photos. The 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro lenses are much weaker, so treat the main sensor as the camera and the other two as occasional extras.
How long does the Poco F5 battery last?
The 5,000mAh battery paired with the efficient 4nm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 comfortably gets through a full day of mixed use. The bundled 67W wired charging refills it quickly, though there is no wireless charging on this model.
Is the Poco F5 waterproof?
No. The Poco F5 carries an IP53 rating, which covers dust and light splashes such as rain, but not immersion. Do not take it in the shower or the pool.
What software does the Poco F5 run?
It launched on Android 13 with MIUI 14 for POCO and has since been updated to Android 15 with Xiaomi HyperOS 3. It is late in its update cycle, so buyers who want several more years of Android upgrades should look at a newer model.
Should I get the Poco F5 or the Poco F5 Pro?
The F5 Pro adds a sharper 1440p OLED display, the more powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, a slightly larger battery and 30W wireless charging. The standard F5 is 23g lighter, thinner and keeps the headphone jack the Pro drops. Choose the Pro for screen sharpness and peak performance, or the F5 for a lighter phone with the same main camera.

Based on main-sensor size (1-inch / 1/1.3" beats 1/2.0"), telephoto reach (periscope > 5x > 3x optical), image processing tier (Apple Pro, Pixel Pro, Galaxy Ultra, Honor Magic Pro, Xiaomi Ultra), pro video features (ProRes, Apple Log, Dolby Vision), camera-partnership branding (Leica, Hasselblad, Zeiss) and OIS. Older flagships are de-rated since image processing pipelines have advanced significantly each generation. Megapixel count is deliberately downweighted — it correlates poorly with real-world camera quality.

Based on battery capacity (mAh) adjusted for platform efficiency calibrated against NotebookCheck, Tom's Guide, GSMArena and CNET reviewer tests. Apple A-series gets +45% (iOS process freezing + LTPO 1Hz + tuned panels make iPhone Pro Max outlast many 6500+ mAh Android phones in measured tests). Top Snapdragon / Dimensity flagships get +15%, budget chipsets are penalised −15% to −25% to reflect less efficient displays and looser background limits. Charging speed is excluded — see the separate Fast charging tag for that.
