The Moto G35 is Motorola's answer to a specific budget problem: most cheap phones ask you to accept a low-resolution screen. This one does not. Its 6.72-inch panel runs at full 1080p with a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes text noticeably crisper and scrolling smoother than the HD+ screens fitted to most rivals at this level, and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos make it a better companion for video than the price implies. The Unisoc T760 chip is the compromise. It copes with messaging, browsing, streaming and undemanding games, but it is not a processor you buy for headroom, and heavy multitaskers should look at the 8GB model rather than the 4GB one. The 5,000mAh battery lasts a full day without difficulty, though 18W charging is slow to refill it.
