The Motorola Edge 50 Pro sits in the awkward middle of the phone market and handles it better than most. It borrows nearly all the flagship-feeling parts from the Edge 50 Ultra, including the 6.7-inch 1.5K pOLED at 144Hz, the IP68 rating, 125W wired charging and unusually quick 50W wireless charging, then saves money where fewer people will notice. The chip is a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 rather than 8-series silicon, so heavy gaming will push it, but scrolling, cameras and everyday multitasking never feel sluggish. The camera set is more useful than the megapixel counts suggest: a bright 50MP main sensor with stabilisation, a genuine 3x telephoto rather than a digital crop, and a 50MP autofocus selfie camera that is one of the best on any phone at this level. Motorola's Pantone-validated display tuning keeps colours believable. At 186g and just over 8mm thick it is also comfortable to hold, which many similarly specified rivals are not.
