About the Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC

The Poco X3 NFC was the phone that turned Poco into a household name for value in the UK, and it is easy to see why people still look it up. Poco put a 120Hz 6.67-inch screen, a 5,160mAh battery and stereo speakers into a phone aimed squarely at buyers who did not want to spend flagship money, then added the things budget phones usually drop first: a headphone jack, microSD expansion and NFC for contactless payments. The Snapdragon 732G is a mid-range chip rather than a fast one, but paired with that big battery it delivers the sort of two-day endurance most flagships never manage. The compromises show up elsewhere. It is a genuinely chunky phone at 215g and 9.4mm thick, the display is LCD rather than OLED so blacks look grey next to an AMOLED rival, and the 48MP main camera is fine in daylight but soft after dark. Software support has ended, which matters most if you want ongoing security patches. As a cheap, long-lasting media and gaming phone, though, it is still coherent.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC worth buying?
It is worth buying only as a low-cost secondary or first phone, not as a long-term main device. The 120Hz screen, 5,160mAh battery and stereo speakers still deliver more than most budget phones. However, Xiaomi has ended software support, so it no longer receives Android upgrades or security patches.
Does the Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC have a headphone jack?
Yes. The Poco X3 NFC keeps a 3.5mm headphone jack alongside dual stereo speakers and an IR blaster, which is why it remains popular with people who use wired earphones. It also retains a microSD card slot for expandable storage.
How good is the Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC battery life?
Battery life is the phone's standout feature. The 5,160mAh cell routinely stretches to two days of light or moderate use, and 33W wired charging refills it far faster than most budget rivals of its era. Dropping the display from 120Hz to 60Hz extends it further still.
Is the Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC camera good?
It is acceptable in daylight and weak in low light. The rear system is a 48MP main sensor supported by an 8MP ultrawide plus 2MP macro and depth sensors, with a 20MP selfie camera. Daytime shots hold up fine for social media, but detail falls away quickly indoors and at night.
How does the Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC compare to the Poco X3 Pro?
The X3 Pro shares the same 6.67-inch 120Hz screen, 5,160mAh battery and 33W charging, but swaps in the much faster Snapdragon 860 chip and quicker UFS 3.1 storage. Its 64MP main camera is nominally higher resolution, though the X3 NFC has the better 8MP ultrawide against the Pro's differently tuned 13MP unit. The Pro is the one to choose if gaming performance matters.
Will the Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC still receive software updates?
No. It launched on Android 10 with MIUI 12 and has since passed the end of its update window, so no further Android version upgrades or security patches are issued. The phone continues to function, but you should factor the lack of patches into any purchase decision.

Based on main-sensor size (1-inch / 1/1.3" beats 1/2.0"), telephoto reach (periscope > 5x > 3x optical), image processing tier (Apple Pro, Pixel Pro, Galaxy Ultra, Honor Magic Pro, Xiaomi Ultra), pro video features (ProRes, Apple Log, Dolby Vision), camera-partnership branding (Leica, Hasselblad, Zeiss) and OIS. Older flagships are de-rated since image processing pipelines have advanced significantly each generation. Megapixel count is deliberately downweighted — it correlates poorly with real-world camera quality.

Based on battery capacity (mAh) adjusted for platform efficiency calibrated against NotebookCheck, Tom's Guide, GSMArena and CNET reviewer tests. Apple A-series gets +45% (iOS process freezing + LTPO 1Hz + tuned panels make iPhone Pro Max outlast many 6500+ mAh Android phones in measured tests). Top Snapdragon / Dimensity flagships get +15%, budget chipsets are penalised −15% to −25% to reflect less efficient displays and looser background limits. Charging speed is excluded — see the separate Fast charging tag for that.
