About the Xiaomi Poco F6 Pro

The Poco F6 Pro follows the formula that made the F series a cult favourite: last year's flagship processor in a body that costs a fraction of a flagship. Here that means the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, paired with a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel that is sharper and brighter than almost anything else you will find outside the premium tier. It is a phone built around two things, screen quality and speed, and it is very good at both. Charging is the other headline: 120W refills the 5,000mAh battery in the time it takes to shower, and the charger comes in the box. The compromises are honest ones. The camera system is competent rather than class-leading, with a modest ultrawide and a filler macro lens, so photography enthusiasts should look elsewhere. It is also heavy and thick by 2024 standards, and there is no formal high-grade water resistance. If raw performance per pound matters more than camera versatility, this is one of the strongest value propositions on the UK market.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Poco F6 Pro worth buying?
Yes, if you want flagship-class speed without flagship pricing. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 3200 x 1440 AMOLED display and 120W charging all sit well above what its price tier normally delivers. The camera system and the 209g weight are the areas where the savings show.
How fast does the Poco F6 Pro charge?
The Poco F6 Pro supports 120W HyperCharge and Xiaomi includes the 120W charger in the box, which is increasingly rare. Charging is wired only, so there is no wireless charging option.
How good is the Poco F6 Pro camera?
It is solid rather than special. The 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilisation takes good daylight and reasonable low-light shots, but the 8MP ultrawide is soft and the 2MP macro adds little. Video tops out impressively at 8K, though most people will get better results staying at 4K.
Does the Poco F6 Pro have a headphone jack or expandable storage?
No to both. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack and no microSD slot, so choose your storage carefully at purchase. Configurations run from 256GB up to 1TB with 16GB of RAM.
How long will the Poco F6 Pro receive updates?
Xiaomi committed the Poco F6 Pro to three major Android version upgrades from its Android 14 launch, plus four years of security patches running to 2028. It ships with Xiaomi HyperOS rather than the older MIUI.
Should I buy the Poco F6 Pro or the Poco F6?
The F6 Pro has the sharper 3200 x 1440 display, brighter 4000-nit peak, faster 120W charging and larger storage options. The standard Poco F6 uses the newer but slightly less powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, and is 30g lighter and noticeably thinner, which many people prefer day to day. Pick the Pro for the screen and charging, or the F6 if comfort in the hand matters more.

Based on main-sensor size (1-inch / 1/1.3" beats 1/2.0"), telephoto reach (periscope > 5x > 3x optical), image processing tier (Apple Pro, Pixel Pro, Galaxy Ultra, Honor Magic Pro, Xiaomi Ultra), pro video features (ProRes, Apple Log, Dolby Vision), camera-partnership branding (Leica, Hasselblad, Zeiss) and OIS. Older flagships are de-rated since image processing pipelines have advanced significantly each generation. Megapixel count is deliberately downweighted — it correlates poorly with real-world camera quality.

Based on battery capacity (mAh) adjusted for platform efficiency calibrated against NotebookCheck, Tom's Guide, GSMArena and CNET reviewer tests. Apple A-series gets +45% (iOS process freezing + LTPO 1Hz + tuned panels make iPhone Pro Max outlast many 6500+ mAh Android phones in measured tests). Top Snapdragon / Dimensity flagships get +15%, budget chipsets are penalised −15% to −25% to reflect less efficient displays and looser background limits. Charging speed is excluded — see the separate Fast charging tag for that.
