About the Sony Xperia 5 II
The Xperia 5 II is the phone people reach for when every other flagship has become too big. At 158mm tall, 68mm wide and 163g it is genuinely one-handed in a way almost nothing else with a Snapdragon 865 inside ever managed, and the tall 21:9 shape means it stays narrow rather than short. Sony aimed it squarely at enthusiasts. The 6.1-inch OLED runs at 120Hz, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack driving properly tuned front stereo speakers, a microSD slot and IP65/IP68 water resistance, and the camera app is built around Sony's Alpha know-how with manual controls, eye autofocus and 20fps burst shooting with continuous tracking. The trade-offs are real: the triple 12MP camera needs you to work for good results and its automatic mode is less forgiving than a Pixel or an iPhone, the 4,000mAh battery is only adequate given the 120Hz panel, and there is no wireless charging. Software ended at Android 12, so it is now a specialist choice rather than a mainstream one.
