The Galaxy S21 FE 5G arrived late and slightly awkwardly, but it turned out to be one of the better value Samsung phones of its generation because it kept the parts that matter. It uses the same Snapdragon 888 flagship chip as the standard S21, the same 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED panel technology and the same IP68 water resistance, then saves money on the plastic back and a slightly less exotic camera setup. What you get in return is a bigger 6.4-inch screen and a larger 4,500mAh battery than the standard S21 offered, which makes it the more practical phone of the two for anyone who watches a lot of video. The camera trio is sensible rather than showy, with a genuine 3x optical telephoto that most mid-range phones still do not include. Samsung's long update policy is the other reason it has aged well, with four Android generations delivered and five years of security patches from launch. Charging at 25W is the main compromise.
