About the Samsung Galaxy S21
The Galaxy S21 was Samsung's compact flagship for 2021, and it has aged well in the ways that matter for a refurbished or second-hand buy. At 6.2 inches and 169g it is genuinely easy to use one-handed, which is increasingly rare, and the 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen still feels as fluid as anything sold today. The camera set-up covers ultrawide, main and a 64MP sensor used for 3x hybrid zoom, and it produces the bright, ready-to-share images Samsung is known for, with 8K video recording thrown in. The trade-offs were controversial at launch and remain so: Samsung dropped the microSD slot entirely, cut the resolution to Full HD+ from the S20's sharper panel, and used a plastic back rather than glass. The 4,000mAh battery is the real weak point, and a heavy day will need a top-up before the evening. Samsung promised four Android upgrades and five years of security updates from its January 2021 launch, so that window has now run its course, which is the main argument against relying on one as a long-term main phone.

The catch is that its five-year security update window from the January 2021 launch has now elapsed, so it suits a spare or light-use phone better than a long-term main device.
Does the Samsung Galaxy S21 have a microSD card slot?
No. Samsung removed expandable storage from the entire S21 range, so you are limited to the 128GB or 256GB you buy at the outset. If you store a lot of video or offline music, choose the 256GB model, as there is no way to add capacity later.
