The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite launched in January 2020 as a more affordable route into Samsung's flagship S-series, and it punched well above its weight with a Snapdragon 855 processor, 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, and a 48MP camera with Samsung's Super Steady OIS. Six years later, it is firmly a legacy device. Samsung ended all software support in early 2024, leaving it frozen on Android 13 with the February 2024 security patch. The Snapdragon 855 still handles basic tasks respectably, and some users report it remains smooth for social media and streaming even in 2025-2026, a testament to how powerful that chip was at launch. The large Super AMOLED display still produces vibrant colours and deep blacks, and the 4,500mAh battery provides acceptable all-day endurance for light use. However, the complete absence of security updates for over two years makes it a genuine risk for banking, payments, and sensitive data. There is no IP rating for water resistance, no 5G connectivity, and the camera, while once impressive, is now outclassed by even budget phones. The Galaxy S10 Lite is best treated as a curiosity or an offline media device in 2026. For anything requiring modern security, connectivity, or app support, it is time to move on.
