About the Samsung Galaxy F07

The Galaxy F07 is Samsung at its most stripped back. It is an entry-level handset built around a 6.7-inch HD+ LCD, a MediaTek Helio G99 chip and 4GB of RAM, and it makes no attempt to be anything more than a dependable everyday phone for calls, messaging, streaming and social apps. What lifts it above the usual budget crowd is Samsung's software commitment: it ships with Android 15 and One UI 7 and is covered by up to six Android version upgrades, which is remarkable longevity for a phone this basic and something no rival at this level matches. The 90Hz screen keeps scrolling reasonably smooth, and the 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging is a sensible pairing with a power-efficient chip. The omissions are significant though. There is no 5G, no NFC for contactless payments and only IP54 splash resistance, and the 720p resolution on such a large panel looks soft. Storage is limited to 64GB, so the microSD slot is not optional so much as essential.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Samsung Galaxy F07 worth buying?
It is worth considering only if you want the simplest possible Samsung phone and value the long software support. The Helio G99 chip, 5,000mAh battery and One UI software handle everyday tasks fine, but the lack of 5G, missing NFC and 720p screen are real limitations. Anyone who wants contactless payments or 5G should step up to a Galaxy A series model.
Does the Samsung Galaxy F07 have 5G?
No. The Galaxy F07 is a 4G LTE handset, so it cannot connect to 5G networks. That keeps costs down and is easier on the battery, but it does limit how long the phone will feel current as UK networks continue to expand 5G coverage.
Does the Samsung Galaxy F07 have NFC for contactless payments?
No. The Galaxy F07 does not include NFC, so you cannot use Samsung Pay, Google Pay or any tap-to-pay service on it. If paying by phone matters to you, this is the single biggest reason to look at another model.
How long will the Samsung Galaxy F07 receive updates?
Samsung lists the Galaxy F07 for up to six Android version upgrades from its launch on Android 15 with One UI 7. That is an unusually long support window for an entry-level phone and means it should keep receiving security patches well beyond the point most budget rivals stop.
Is the Samsung Galaxy F07 camera good?
It is adequate rather than impressive. The 50MP main camera takes usable photos in good daylight, backed by a 2MP depth sensor for portrait mode and an 8MP front camera. Low-light results are weak and video tops out at 1080p at 30fps, so it is a snapshot camera rather than a serious one.
What is the difference between the Samsung Galaxy F07 and the Galaxy A07?
The two are closely related and share the same 6.7-inch 90Hz screen, Helio G99 chip, 50MP camera and 5,000mAh battery. The Galaxy A07 is the more flexible of the pair because it is offered with more RAM and storage, up to 8GB and 256GB, while the F07 is limited to 4GB and 64GB. If the extra memory matters, the A07 is the one to look at.

Based on main-sensor size (1-inch / 1/1.3" beats 1/2.0"), telephoto reach (periscope > 5x > 3x optical), image processing tier (Apple Pro, Pixel Pro, Galaxy Ultra, Honor Magic Pro, Xiaomi Ultra), pro video features (ProRes, Apple Log, Dolby Vision), camera-partnership branding (Leica, Hasselblad, Zeiss) and OIS. Older flagships are de-rated since image processing pipelines have advanced significantly each generation. Megapixel count is deliberately downweighted — it correlates poorly with real-world camera quality.

Based on battery capacity (mAh) adjusted for platform efficiency calibrated against NotebookCheck, Tom's Guide, GSMArena and CNET reviewer tests. Apple A-series gets +45% (iOS process freezing + LTPO 1Hz + tuned panels make iPhone Pro Max outlast many 6500+ mAh Android phones in measured tests). Top Snapdragon / Dimensity flagships get +15%, budget chipsets are penalised −15% to −25% to reflect less efficient displays and looser background limits. Charging speed is excluded — see the separate Fast charging tag for that.
