About the Oppo Find X3 Pro

The Oppo Find X3 Pro was the company's big swing at the 2021 flagship crowd, and it still feels distinctive years later thanks to the moulded glass back that flows into the camera housing without a raised block. Oppo built the camera around two identical 50MP Sony IMX766 sensors, so the ultrawide holds up in low light rather than falling apart the moment you switch to it, which is still unusual at any price. The party trick is the 3MP microlens, a microscope camera that magnifies fabric, leaves and skin to a degree no other mainstream phone offers, though it is a novelty you will use a handful of times. The 6.7-inch LTPO panel runs at 120Hz and handles a full billion colours end to end, and 65W wired charging refills the 4,500mAh battery in well under an hour with 30W wireless as backup. The trade-off is zoom: dropping the Find X2 Pro's periscope for a short 13MP telephoto means long-range shots are weak. Today it suits buyers chasing flagship hardware and IP68 build on a used or clearance basis, accepting that its Android update window has closed.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Oppo Find X3 Pro worth buying?
It is worth buying if you want 2021 flagship hardware, a Snapdragon 888, an IP68-rated build and 65W charging without paying current flagship money. The catch is software: it shipped on Android 11 with ColorOS 11.2 and is no longer in line for new Android versions, so buy it for the hardware rather than long-term support.
How good is the Oppo Find X3 Pro camera?
The main and ultrawide cameras are both 50MP Sony IMX766 sensors, so wide-angle shots keep the same detail and colour as the main lens instead of looking noticeably worse. Zoom is the weak point, with only a 13MP telephoto rather than the periscope Oppo used on the Find X2 Pro. The 3MP microlens shoots microscope-style close-ups that nothing else on the market offers.
Does the Oppo Find X3 Pro have wireless charging?
Yes. It supports 30W AirVOOC wireless charging as well as 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 over the cable, and it works with standard Qi chargers at slower speeds. There is also reverse wireless charging for topping up earbuds.
Is the Oppo Find X3 Pro waterproof?
It carries an IP68 rating, which covers dust ingress and immersion in fresh water. That means splashes, rain and an accidental drop in the sink are survivable, but it is not designed for swimming or salt water.
Does the Oppo Find X3 Pro have a headphone jack or microSD slot?
No to both. There is no 3.5mm headphone socket, so you will need USB-C or Bluetooth headphones, and storage is fixed at 256GB with no microSD expansion.
Should I get the Oppo Find X3 Pro or the Find X3 Neo?
The Find X3 Pro has the sharper 1440p 120Hz LTPO screen, the Snapdragon 888, the dual 50MP camera pairing, wireless charging and an IP68 rating. The Find X3 Neo runs a Snapdragon 865 with a 1080p 90Hz screen and no official water resistance, but it is lighter at 184g and shares the same 65W charging and 50MP main sensor. Pick the Neo if you want most of the experience in a smaller, lighter body.

Based on main-sensor size (1-inch / 1/1.3" beats 1/2.0"), telephoto reach (periscope > 5x > 3x optical), image processing tier (Apple Pro, Pixel Pro, Galaxy Ultra, Honor Magic Pro, Xiaomi Ultra), pro video features (ProRes, Apple Log, Dolby Vision), camera-partnership branding (Leica, Hasselblad, Zeiss) and OIS. Older flagships are de-rated since image processing pipelines have advanced significantly each generation. Megapixel count is deliberately downweighted — it correlates poorly with real-world camera quality.

Based on battery capacity (mAh) adjusted for platform efficiency calibrated against NotebookCheck, Tom's Guide, GSMArena and CNET reviewer tests. Apple A-series gets +45% (iOS process freezing + LTPO 1Hz + tuned panels make iPhone Pro Max outlast many 6500+ mAh Android phones in measured tests). Top Snapdragon / Dimensity flagships get +15%, budget chipsets are penalised −15% to −25% to reflect less efficient displays and looser background limits. Charging speed is excluded — see the separate Fast charging tag for that.
