The Oppo Find X3 Neo sits in an awkward but appealing spot: it uses the previous year's flagship Snapdragon 865 rather than a mid-range chip, then pairs it with the same 50MP Sony IMX766 main sensor Oppo put in the far pricier Find X3 Pro. That combination means photos in good light are close to flagship standard and performance still holds up for gaming and heavy multitasking. The body is the other draw, at 7.99mm thick and 184g it is noticeably easier to live with than most phones with a battery this size, and the 6.55-inch AMOLED at 90Hz is bright and colour-accurate without the power draw of a 120Hz panel. Where Oppo saved money is telling: there is no official water resistance rating, no wireless charging, no headphone socket and no microSD slot, and the 13MP telephoto is a short 2x rather than a proper zoom lens. The 65W SuperVOOC charging is the standout convenience feature, taking the 4,500mAh battery from flat to full in around half an hour.
