About the Oppo Find X3 Lite

The Find X3 Lite was Oppo's attempt to make a mid-range phone feel like a flagship in the ways people actually notice. It is unusually light at around 172g, the 6.4-inch AMOLED panel runs at 90Hz, and 65W SuperVOOC charging refills the 4,300mAh battery far faster than almost anything else at this level, which does a lot to offset a battery that is smaller than the 5,000mAh cells fitted to most rivals. The Snapdragon 765G behind it is a sensible mid-range 5G chip rather than a powerhouse, so it copes with everyday apps and streaming but will not keep pace with gaming-focused phones from the same era. The camera set-up is a familiar mid-range compromise: a solid 64MP main sensor with no optical stabilisation, an 8MP ultrawide that trails behind it, and 2MP macro and monochrome lenses that add little. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack, which by 2021 was already a rarity. Oppo's update window for it has closed, so treat it as a used-market pick.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Oppo Find X3 Lite worth buying?
The Find X3 Lite is worth considering second hand if you want a light, comfortable 5G phone with a 90Hz AMOLED screen and very fast charging. The drawbacks are a smaller 4,300mAh battery than most rivals and the fact that it no longer receives Android or security updates. It suits everyday use rather than gaming or serious photography.
Does the Oppo Find X3 Lite support 5G?
Yes. The Snapdragon 765G includes an integrated 5G modem, so the Find X3 Lite works on UK 5G networks. That was one of its main selling points over cheaper 4G-only mid-rangers sold at the same time.
How fast does the Oppo Find X3 Lite charge?
Very fast for its class. It supports 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 charging, which takes the 4,300mAh battery from empty to full in well under an hour. That speed matters here because the battery is smaller than the 5,000mAh cells most rivals use, so quick top-ups do a lot of the work.
Does the Oppo Find X3 Lite have a headphone jack?
Yes, the Find X3 Lite keeps a 3.5mm headphone jack, which was already unusual for a phone of its generation. It also has an in-display fingerprint reader and face unlock for biometrics.
How good is the Oppo Find X3 Lite camera?
The 64MP main camera takes decent, detailed photos in good light, but there is no optical stabilisation, so low-light shots and handheld video are less steady than on better-equipped mid-rangers. The 8MP ultrawide is noticeably softer, and the 2MP macro and monochrome sensors do very little. The 32MP front camera is a strong point for selfies.
Should I get the Oppo Find X3 Lite or the Find X3 Neo?
The Find X3 Neo is the more capable phone by a clear margin: it uses the flagship Snapdragon 865, has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and adds a 50MP main camera with optical stabilisation plus a genuine 13MP telephoto for optical zoom. The Find X3 Lite is lighter at 172g against 184g and shares the same 65W SuperVOOC charging. Choose the Neo for photography and performance, the Lite for comfort. Compare Oppo Find X3 Neo deals.

Based on main-sensor size (1-inch / 1/1.3" beats 1/2.0"), telephoto reach (periscope > 5x > 3x optical), image processing tier (Apple Pro, Pixel Pro, Galaxy Ultra, Honor Magic Pro, Xiaomi Ultra), pro video features (ProRes, Apple Log, Dolby Vision), camera-partnership branding (Leica, Hasselblad, Zeiss) and OIS. Older flagships are de-rated since image processing pipelines have advanced significantly each generation. Megapixel count is deliberately downweighted — it correlates poorly with real-world camera quality.

Based on battery capacity (mAh) adjusted for platform efficiency calibrated against NotebookCheck, Tom's Guide, GSMArena and CNET reviewer tests. Apple A-series gets +45% (iOS process freezing + LTPO 1Hz + tuned panels make iPhone Pro Max outlast many 6500+ mAh Android phones in measured tests). Top Snapdragon / Dimensity flagships get +15%, budget chipsets are penalised −15% to −25% to reflect less efficient displays and looser background limits. Charging speed is excluded — see the separate Fast charging tag for that.
