About the OnePlus 9 Pro
The OnePlus 9 Pro was the phone that finally saw OnePlus take cameras seriously, and it still shows. The Hasselblad partnership brought properly tuned colour and, more importantly, a 50MP ultrawide using a freeform lens that removes the stretched edges most ultrawide shots suffer from - it remains one of the better ultrawides you will find on a phone of this era. The rest of the package was flagship-grade in a way that has aged well: a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED that scales between 1Hz and 120Hz to save power, a QHD+ resolution most rivals reserved for their most expensive models, IP68 water resistance and genuinely quick charging at 65W wired and 50W wireless. Snapdragon 888 performance is still comfortably enough for everyday apps, though that chip ran hot and battery life was only average as a result. The bigger caveat in 2026 is software: OnePlus committed to three Android version updates from Android 11, meaning the phone reached Android 14 and that window has now closed. Buy it as a cut-price flagship experience rather than a phone to keep for years.
