About the OnePlus 6T
The OnePlus 6T was the phone that took OnePlus properly mainstream in the UK. It kept the formula that built the brand's reputation, a flagship Snapdragon 845 with generous RAM and a version of Android stripped of clutter, then added the two things that made it feel modern: a tiny teardrop notch instead of a wide one, and an in-display fingerprint reader that was among the first to work quickly enough to trust. OxygenOS is still the reason people remember it fondly, because it stayed fast in a way heavier Android skins did not. The compromises were deliberate and are worth knowing. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack, no microSD slot, no official IP water resistance rating and no wireless charging, and the dual camera was competent rather than class-leading. Dash Charge remains genuinely quick over the bundled cable. Software support ended with Android 11, and this is a 4G-only handset, so it now suits someone who wants clean, responsive Android over current features.
