About the OnePlus 10 Pro

The OnePlus 10 Pro was the point at which OnePlus stopped chasing rivals on paper and started competing on the things people actually notice day to day, chiefly charging and screen quality. The 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED runs at a full 1440p with a variable refresh rate, and it remains one of the better panels of its generation. Charging is the headline: 80W wired takes the 5,000mAh battery from empty to full in roughly half an hour, and 50W wireless charging is faster than most rivals manage with a cable. The Hasselblad-tuned camera system is capable rather than class-leading, with a 48MP main sensor and an unusually wide 50MP ultrawide that shoots a 150-degree field of view, though the 8MP 3.3x telephoto is the weak link. Two caveats matter in the UK: the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 runs warm under sustained load, and the unlocked model carries no official IP water resistance rating. As an older flagship it is now a value proposition rather than a cutting-edge one.

Frequently asked questions

Is the OnePlus 10 Pro worth buying?
It still makes sense if you want flagship-grade charging and a 1440p 120Hz screen without paying current flagship money. The trade-offs are a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip that gets warm under load and a software support window that is close to its end, so it suits buyers on a two-year horizon rather than a five-year one.
How fast does the OnePlus 10 Pro charge?
Very fast. The 80W SuperVOOC wired charging fills the 5,000mAh battery in around 30 minutes, and it also supports 50W AirVOOC wireless charging, which is quicker than the wired charging on many competing phones. The charger is included in the box, which was already unusual by 2022.
Is the OnePlus 10 Pro waterproof?
The unlocked model sold in the UK does not carry an official IP water and dust resistance rating, unlike the OnePlus 9 Pro before it, which was rated IP68. It will survive incidental splashes but should not be treated as water resistant, and any liquid damage is unlikely to be covered.
How good is the OnePlus 10 Pro camera?
It is solid rather than exceptional. The 48MP main camera with optical stabilisation produces pleasant, natural colours thanks to Hasselblad tuning, and the 50MP ultrawide with a 150-degree field of view is genuinely fun for landscapes and interiors. The 8MP telephoto only manages 3.3x optical zoom and falls behind the best flagships of the era for detail.
Does the OnePlus 10 Pro have a headphone jack or microSD slot?
No to both. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack and no microSD card slot, so pick your storage capacity carefully at purchase. It does keep the alert slider for quickly switching between ring, vibrate and silent.
How does the OnePlus 10 Pro compare to the OnePlus 9 Pro?
The 10 Pro adds a bigger 5,000mAh battery, moves from 65W to 80W wired charging and swaps the Snapdragon 888 for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The 9 Pro fights back with an official IP68 rating on the unlocked model and slightly lower weight, and its camera hardware is broadly similar.

Based on main-sensor size (1-inch / 1/1.3" beats 1/2.0"), telephoto reach (periscope > 5x > 3x optical), image processing tier (Apple Pro, Pixel Pro, Galaxy Ultra, Honor Magic Pro, Xiaomi Ultra), pro video features (ProRes, Apple Log, Dolby Vision), camera-partnership branding (Leica, Hasselblad, Zeiss) and OIS. Older flagships are de-rated since image processing pipelines have advanced significantly each generation. Megapixel count is deliberately downweighted — it correlates poorly with real-world camera quality.

Based on battery capacity (mAh) adjusted for platform efficiency calibrated against NotebookCheck, Tom's Guide, GSMArena and CNET reviewer tests. Apple A-series gets +45% (iOS process freezing + LTPO 1Hz + tuned panels make iPhone Pro Max outlast many 6500+ mAh Android phones in measured tests). Top Snapdragon / Dimensity flagships get +15%, budget chipsets are penalised −15% to −25% to reflect less efficient displays and looser background limits. Charging speed is excluded — see the separate Fast charging tag for that.
