About the Motorola Moto G72
The Moto G72 is one of the more interesting mid-range Motorolas of its era because it spends its budget where you notice it. Instead of chasing a 5G badge, Motorola fitted a 6.6-inch OLED panel running at 120Hz, gave it stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning and kept the body down to 166g and 7.9mm, which makes it noticeably lighter and slimmer than most phones with a 5,000mAh battery. The MediaTek Helio G99 inside is a 4G-only chip, and that is the catch: if you want 5G on a UK network this is not the phone, though on 4G it is quick enough for social apps, streaming and casual games. The 108MP main camera is good in daylight and ordinary once the light drops, with the ultrawide and macro lenses very much supporting cast. Motorola's near-stock Android remains one of the cleaner interfaces at this level, and the microSD slot and headphone socket are welcome at a time when both were disappearing. As an older handset it makes most sense for someone who wants an OLED screen and light body without paying for 5G they may not use.
