About the Motorola Moto G06 Power

The Moto G06 Power exists for one reason, and it is right there in the name. Motorola has fitted a 7,000mAh battery, the largest it has ever put in a phone, into an entry-level handset that otherwise sticks to the basics. For anyone who resents charging their phone daily, that is a compelling trade, and Motorola rates it for well over two days of typical use. The compromises are honest ones. The 6.88-inch screen is a large but low-resolution HD+ LCD, though the 120Hz refresh rate keeps scrolling smoother than most budget phones manage. The MediaTek Helio G81 chip is built for messaging, video and light apps rather than gaming, and there is no 5G at all, so it is a 4G-only phone in a market moving the other way. On the plus side you still get a headphone jack, microSD expansion up to 1TB, IP64 splash resistance and Gorilla Glass 3. At 220g it is noticeably heavy, which is the price of that battery.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Motorola Moto G06 Power worth buying?
It is worth buying if battery life matters more to you than anything else. The 7,000mAh cell comfortably outlasts almost every phone at this level, and the headphone jack and microSD slot add practical value. Look elsewhere if you need 5G, a sharp display or the ability to run demanding games.
How long does the Motorola Moto G06 Power battery last?
Motorola rates the 7,000mAh battery at up to 62 hours of use, which in practice means most people will get two full days and often more. Charging is the trade-off, as it is limited to 18W over USB-C, so a full top-up takes a while. There is no wireless charging.
Does the Motorola Moto G06 Power have 5G?
No. The Moto G06 Power is a 4G LTE phone only, so it will not connect to any UK 5G network. If 5G matters to you, look at Motorola's Moto G 5G models instead, as 4G speeds are still perfectly usable for streaming and browsing but the phone will age faster.
Does the Motorola Moto G06 Power have a headphone jack and microSD slot?
Yes to both. It keeps the 3.5mm headphone jack that most phones have dropped, and the microSD slot takes cards up to 1TB on top of the 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of built-in storage. That makes it a sensible choice if you carry a lot of offline music or video.
Is the Motorola Moto G06 Power screen good?
It is a 6.88-inch LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate, so scrolling looks smooth, but the HD+ resolution of 1640 x 720 means text and images are noticeably less crisp than on a Full HD panel. Peak brightness of around 600 nits is adequate indoors but a struggle in bright sunlight.
What is the difference between the Moto G06 Power and the Moto G06?
They share the same 6.88-inch 120Hz screen, Helio G81 chip, 50MP camera and design. The Power adds a much larger 7,000mAh battery versus 5,200mAh and faster 18W charging instead of 10W, at the cost of extra thickness and 26g more weight. Pick the Power for endurance and the standard G06 if you would rather have a lighter phone.

Based on main-sensor size (1-inch / 1/1.3" beats 1/2.0"), telephoto reach (periscope > 5x > 3x optical), image processing tier (Apple Pro, Pixel Pro, Galaxy Ultra, Honor Magic Pro, Xiaomi Ultra), pro video features (ProRes, Apple Log, Dolby Vision), camera-partnership branding (Leica, Hasselblad, Zeiss) and OIS. Older flagships are de-rated since image processing pipelines have advanced significantly each generation. Megapixel count is deliberately downweighted — it correlates poorly with real-world camera quality.

Based on battery capacity (mAh) adjusted for platform efficiency calibrated against NotebookCheck, Tom's Guide, GSMArena and CNET reviewer tests. Apple A-series gets +45% (iOS process freezing + LTPO 1Hz + tuned panels make iPhone Pro Max outlast many 6500+ mAh Android phones in measured tests). Top Snapdragon / Dimensity flagships get +15%, budget chipsets are penalised −15% to −25% to reflect less efficient displays and looser background limits. Charging speed is excluded — see the separate Fast charging tag for that.
