Switch from Tesco Mobile to EE
Keep your phone number when you switch from Tesco Mobile to EE. Here's how in 3 simple steps.
Switching from Tesco Mobile to EE moves you from an O2-powered budget network to the UK's fastest and most extensive mobile network. While Tesco Mobile is great for value, EE delivers superior speeds, broader 5G coverage, and premium features like inclusive Apple TV+ or Xbox Game Pass on selected plans.
Important Warning
Do NOT cancel your contract manually. If you cancel before transferring your number, you will lose it permanently. Your old contract will automatically cancel once the transfer completes.
Pre-Switch Checklist
- Back up your data: Contacts, voicemails, and saved messages won't transfer.
- Unlock your phone: Ensure it's not locked to your old network if you plan to keep using it.
- Check Early Termination Fees: Text INFO to 85075 to see if you'll incur charges for leaving early.
How to Switch from Tesco Mobile to EE
Get your PAC code from Tesco Mobile
Text PAC to 65075 from your Tesco Mobile SIM. You can also call Tesco Mobile on 4455 from your Tesco phone, or 0345 301 4455 from another phone, or request your PAC online at tescomobile.com. The PAC code will be sent by text within 60 seconds and is valid for 30 days.
Give your PAC to EE
Sign up for an EE plan at ee.co.uk, visit an EE retail store, or call 0800 079 8586. Choose to keep your existing number during the order process and provide your Tesco Mobile PAC code. EE will coordinate the switch with Tesco Mobile.
Wait 1 working day
Your number will transfer to EE within 1 working day. You will receive a confirmation text on your new EE SIM once the transfer is complete. Your Tesco Mobile account will be closed and any remaining Clubcard points from your mobile plan will stop accruing.
Transfer Cut-off Times: Submitting your PAC code before 5:30 PM usually means your number will transfer the next working day. Submitting it after 5:30 PM or on weekends/bank holidays will add an extra working day to the process.
Final Bill: You'll receive a final bill from Tesco Mobile shortly after the transfer is complete. This covers your usage up to the date of the switch.
Things to Check Before Switching
Check your Tesco Mobile contract status to avoid early termination fees. Note that you will lose any Tesco Clubcard points benefits linked to your mobile plan. Make sure your phone is unlocked for use on EE. If you bought your phone through Tesco Mobile, confirm the handset is fully paid off.
Different Network Coverage
You are moving from O2's network to EE's own infrastructure. EE typically offers faster download speeds and has the widest 5G coverage in the UK. However, O2's 4G coverage is extensive in rural areas, so check EE's coverage at your home and workplace before switching.
