Switch from Sky Mobile to EE

Keep your phone number when you switch from Sky Mobile to EE. Here's how in 3 simple steps.

Updated July 2026

Switching from Sky Mobile to EE takes you from an O2-powered MVNO to the UK's fastest network with the broadest 5G reach. Sky Mobile's data rollover and Mix feature are appealing, but EE offers consistently faster speeds and a wider range of inclusive extras, making it a strong upgrade for performance-focused users.

Important Warning

Do NOT cancel your contract manually. If you cancel before transferring your number, you will lose it permanently. Your old contract will automatically cancel once the transfer completes.

Pre-Switch Checklist

  • Back up your data: Contacts, voicemails, and saved messages won't transfer.
  • Unlock your phone: Ensure it's not locked to your old network if you plan to keep using it.
  • Check Early Termination Fees: Text INFO to 85075 to see if you'll incur charges for leaving early.

How to Switch from Sky Mobile to EE

1

Get your PAC code from Sky Mobile

Text PAC to 65075 from your Sky Mobile SIM. You can also manage the request through your Sky account at sky.com/shop/mobile or by contacting Sky support. Your PAC code will arrive by text within 60 seconds and is valid for 30 days.

2

Give your PAC to EE

Choose an EE plan at ee.co.uk, visit an EE store, or call 0800 079 8586. During sign-up, select the option to keep your existing number and enter your Sky Mobile PAC code. EE will process the number port from Sky Mobile.

3

Wait 1 working day

Your number will transfer to EE within 1 working day. You will receive a confirmation text on your new EE SIM when the switch is done. Your Sky Mobile plan will be cancelled automatically, but your other Sky services like TV and broadband remain unaffected.

Transfer Cut-off Times: Submitting your PAC code before 5:30 PM usually means your number will transfer the next working day. Submitting it after 5:30 PM or on weekends/bank holidays will add an extra working day to the process.

Final Bill: You'll receive a final bill from Sky Mobile shortly after the transfer is complete. This covers your usage up to the date of the switch.

Things to Check Before Switching

Check your Sky Mobile contract end date to avoid early termination fees. Note that any rolled-over data stored in your Sky Piggybank will be lost when you leave. If you have a Sky VIP status, losing your mobile plan may affect your tier. Ensure your handset is unlocked and any device payments are settled.

Different Network Coverage

Sky Mobile uses O2's network, so you are switching from O2 infrastructure to EE's own masts. EE generally delivers faster speeds and has the most extensive 5G network in the UK, though O2's 4G reach is strong in rural areas. Check EE's coverage checker for your postcode before making the move.

Sky Mobile to EE FAQ

Will switching from Sky Mobile to EE affect my Sky TV or broadband?
No, your Sky TV, broadband, and other Sky services are separate from your mobile plan. Only your Sky Mobile contract will be cancelled when your number transfers to EE.
What happens to my Sky Piggybank data?
Any data stored in your Sky Piggybank will be lost when you leave Sky Mobile. There is no way to transfer rolled-over data to EE, so try to use it up before switching.
Does EE offer data rollover like Sky Mobile?
EE does not have a Piggybank-style rollover feature. However, EE's plans include generous data allowances and their speeds are typically much faster, which may offset the lack of rollover.
