Switch from EE to Sky Mobile
Keep your phone number when you switch from EE to Sky Mobile. Here's how in 3 simple steps.
Switching from EE to Sky Mobile is straightforward and you can keep your existing phone number throughout the process. Sky Mobile runs on the O2 network, so you'll be moving from EE's infrastructure to O2's — which means coverage in your area could change. The entire switch typically completes within one working day once Sky Mobile processes your PAC code. If you're a Sky TV customer, bundling Sky Mobile can unlock extra data perks, making it a popular choice for existing Sky households.
Important Warning
Do NOT cancel your contract manually. If you cancel before transferring your number, you will lose it permanently. Your old contract will automatically cancel once the transfer completes.
Pre-Switch Checklist
- Back up your data: Contacts, voicemails, and saved messages won't transfer.
- Unlock your phone: Ensure it's not locked to your old network if you plan to keep using it.
- Check Early Termination Fees: Text INFO to 85075 to see if you'll incur charges for leaving early.
How to Switch from EE to Sky Mobile
Get your PAC code from EE
Text PAC to 65075 from your EE phone. You'll receive your PAC code by text within 60 seconds. This is the fastest method and works regardless of your contract status. Alternatively, you can call EE on 150 from your EE handset (or 0800 079 8586 from any other phone), or log in to your EE account at ee.co.uk and request it online. EE may offer you a deal to stay — you're free to decline and still receive your PAC. The code is valid for 30 days, so there's no rush to use it immediately.
Give your PAC to Sky Mobile
Once you've chosen a Sky Mobile plan, provide your PAC code during the sign-up process at sky.com/mobile. Sky Mobile doesn't have a phone helpline, so everything is handled online or through the My Sky app. Enter your PAC code when prompted during checkout or submit it afterwards through your Sky Mobile account. Make sure the number you want to transfer matches exactly what's on your EE account.
Wait 1 working day
After Sky Mobile receives your PAC code, the number transfer happens on the next working day. You'll get a text confirming the switch date. On transfer day, your EE SIM will stop working and your Sky Mobile SIM will activate with your old number. Keep both SIMs in or near your phone until the switch completes. Your EE contract will be automatically cancelled once the transfer goes through — you don't need to contact EE separately to close your account.
Transfer Cut-off Times: Submitting your PAC code before 5:30 PM usually means your number will transfer the next working day. Submitting it after 5:30 PM or on weekends/bank holidays will add an extra working day to the process.
Final Bill: You'll receive a final bill from EE shortly after the transfer is complete. This covers your usage up to the date of the switch.
Things to Check Before Switching
Check whether you still owe anything on your EE device plan, as this balance becomes payable when you leave. Any remaining contract charges or early termination fees from EE will appear on your final bill. Make sure your EE phone is unlocked before inserting your Sky Mobile SIM — EE phones purchased after December 2021 should already be unlocked, but older devices may need unlocking through your EE account or by calling 150. Back up any data stored on your EE SIM, though most data these days lives in cloud accounts rather than on the SIM itself.
Different Network Coverage
Sky Mobile uses the O2 network, which is different from EE's own network. Coverage levels may differ depending on your location. Before committing, use the coverage checker on sky.com or the O2 coverage checker to verify signal strength at your home, workplace, and regular routes. Rural areas in particular can see noticeable differences between EE and O2 coverage.
