The Xiaomi Pad 8 is the sensible member of the family: it shares the Pad 8 Pro's body, screen and battery, then trims the parts most people never stretch. You still get the 11.2-inch 3:2 panel at 3.2K and up to 144Hz, the same 9,200mAh battery in a 5.75mm aluminium shell, and the same quad speaker array, which is a lot of hardware for a tablet pitched below the flagships. What changes is the chip, a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 rather than the Pro's Snapdragon 8 Elite, along with slower 45W charging, simpler cameras and no fingerprint sensor. None of that matters much if your tablet life is streaming, browsing, note-taking and the occasional game, and the 3:2 aspect ratio remains a better shape for reading and split-screen work than the wider panels used by cheaper rivals. It runs HyperOS 3 on Android, with a desktop-style Workstation mode for windowed multitasking when you attach a keyboard.
