The dual-chip setup pairs a Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 with a low-power co-processor, so simple tasks run on the efficient chip and the watch stretches to around 100 hours in smart mode, roughly two days under heavy use with GPS, and up to 12 days if you drop to power saver. Charging is quick too, with 10 minutes on the puck claimed to cover a day. Swapping the Watch 2's stainless steel case and sapphire crystal for an aluminium body and 2D glass cuts the weight to about 37g without a strap, which makes it far easier to sleep in for overnight tracking. You still get the same 1.43-inch AMOLED screen, dual-frequency GPS for accurate route tracking on runs and rides, heart rate, SpO2, sleep and stress monitoring, and the full Wear OS app catalogue with Google Wallet. The catch is compatibility: it is Android-only, so iPhone owners should look elsewhere, and the softer case material picks up scuffs more readily than the pricier model.
