About the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G

The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G is Xiaomi's attempt to put flagship conveniences into a mid-range phone, and on the specification sheet it largely succeeds. Charging is the standout: 120W HyperCharge refills the 5,110mAh battery in a fraction of the time most rivals need, which changes how you use a phone day to day - a few minutes on the plug before you leave the house is genuinely enough. The 6.67-inch 1.5K AMOLED is bright enough at 3,000 nits to stay legible in direct sun, and it is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 rather than the older glass used further down the range. The 200MP stabilised main camera captures a lot of detail in good light and the pixel-binned output is clean, though the 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro lenses are the usual weak supporting cast. Full IP68 water resistance is rare at this level and worth having. The compromises are physical: at around 210g with a 8.75mm frame it is a chunky phone, and the headphone jack found on cheaper Redmi models is gone.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G worth buying?
Yes, if fast charging and screen quality are what you care about. It pairs 120W charging and a 3,000-nit 1.5K AMOLED with IP68 water resistance, which is an unusual combination outside flagship phones. The downsides are its weight of around 210g, no headphone jack and secondary cameras that do not match the excellent main sensor.
How fast does the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G charge?
It supports 120W HyperCharge for its 5,110mAh battery, which is among the fastest wired charging available on any phone. Note that Xiaomi does not include a power adapter in every region, so you may need a compatible 120W charger to reach full speed.
Is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G waterproof?
It carries a full IP68 rating, meaning it is dust tight and tested for immersion in fresh water up to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes. That is a step above the IP64 rating on the standard Redmi Note 14 5G, though Xiaomi still advises against pool or beach use.
How good is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G camera?
The 200MP f/1.65 main camera uses a large 1/1.4-inch sensor with optical stabilisation and 16-in-1 pixel binning, so daylight and low-light stills are strong for a mid-range phone. Video records at up to 4K 30fps. The 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro lenses are much weaker and are best treated as occasional extras.
Does the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G have a headphone jack?
No. Unlike the standard Redmi Note 14 5G, the Pro+ drops the 3.5mm jack, so you will need USB-C or wireless headphones. It does include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and an infrared blaster.
Should I get the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G or the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G?
The two share the same 6.67-inch 1.5K AMOLED, 200MP stabilised main camera, 5,110mAh battery and IP68 rating, so most of the experience is identical. The Pro+ adds far quicker 120W charging instead of 45W, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip in place of the Dimensity 7300-Ultra, Wi-Fi 6E and a LiquidCool vapour cooling system. In return it is heavier at roughly 210g versus 190g and thicker at 8.75mm versus 8.4mm, so pick the Pro if a lighter phone matters more than charging speed.

Based on main-sensor size (1-inch / 1/1.3" beats 1/2.0"), telephoto reach (periscope > 5x > 3x optical), image processing tier (Apple Pro, Pixel Pro, Galaxy Ultra, Honor Magic Pro, Xiaomi Ultra), pro video features (ProRes, Apple Log, Dolby Vision), camera-partnership branding (Leica, Hasselblad, Zeiss) and OIS. Older flagships are de-rated since image processing pipelines have advanced significantly each generation. Megapixel count is deliberately downweighted — it correlates poorly with real-world camera quality.

Based on battery capacity (mAh) adjusted for platform efficiency calibrated against NotebookCheck, Tom's Guide, GSMArena and CNET reviewer tests. Apple A-series gets +45% (iOS process freezing + LTPO 1Hz + tuned panels make iPhone Pro Max outlast many 6500+ mAh Android phones in measured tests). Top Snapdragon / Dimensity flagships get +15%, budget chipsets are penalised −15% to −25% to reflect less efficient displays and looser background limits. Charging speed is excluded — see the separate Fast charging tag for that.
