About the Xiaomi Redmi 13C 5G
The Xiaomi Redmi 13C 5G takes the same body and screen as the 4G Redmi 13C and swaps in a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chip, which is the whole point of it: 5G connectivity from the very bottom of the UK phone market. The Dimensity chip is also the more modern platform of the two, so day-to-day navigation feels marginally more settled. The 6.74-inch screen is big and runs at 90Hz, but it is only HD+, which shows in slightly fuzzy text and video on a panel this size. Cameras are the obvious cut: a 50MP main sensor that does acceptable daylight work and gives up in dim rooms, an auxiliary depth sensor rather than an ultrawide, and a 5MP selfie camera that is a step down from the 4G model's 8MP unit. In exchange you get a 5,000mAh battery that lasts well over a day, a headphone jack, microSD expansion and a side fingerprint reader. It is a phone for people who want 5G and low running costs, not photography.
