About the Xiaomi Redmi 10
The Redmi 10 was Xiaomi's 2021 attempt to drag flagship-adjacent features into the cheapest corner of the market, and it largely succeeded. It was the first phone in its class to pair a full HD+ 90Hz screen with a 50MP main camera, at a point when rivals were still shipping 720p panels and 13MP sensors. Everyday use still feels reasonable: the Helio G88 handles messaging, streaming and light gaming without drama, the 5,000mAh battery comfortably clears a day and a half, and stereo speakers plus a headphone jack make it a better media phone than most budget handsets. The compromises show up where you would expect. Charging is slow by modern standards, the ultrawide and macro cameras are there to pad the count rather than take good photos, and MIUI on this hardware can stutter when you push it. Its bigger problem in 2026 is age: it shipped on Android 11 and its update window has long closed, so treat it as a low-cost spare or first phone rather than a long-term daily driver.
