About the Xiaomi Poco X6 Pro

The Poco X6 Pro is the phone that made a lot of people rethink what a mid-range Android handset should be capable of. Its headline act is the Dimensity 8300-Ultra, a chip with flagship-class CPU cores that leaves most rivals in its class well behind in games and heavy multitasking. The 6.67-inch AMOLED backs it up with a sharp 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness that stays readable in direct sun. Charging is the other standout: 67W wired refills the 5,000mAh battery in well under an hour, which takes most of the sting out of a heavy day's use. The camera is where Poco has spent less. The 64MP main sensor with optical stabilisation is capable in daylight and steady for handheld video up to 4K, but the 8MP ultrawide is ordinary and the 2MP macro is filler. There is also no headphone jack, no microSD slot and only IP54 splash resistance. Buy it for speed, screen and charging, and treat the camera as adequate rather than a reason to choose it.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Poco X6 Pro worth buying?
Yes, if performance is what you care about. The Dimensity 8300-Ultra delivers gaming and multitasking speed that normally costs considerably more, and it is backed by a bright 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED and 67W charging. The camera system and the missing headphone jack and microSD slot are the compromises.
Is the Poco X6 Pro good for gaming?
It is one of the strongest mid-range gaming phones of its generation. The Dimensity 8300-Ultra pairs four Cortex-A715 performance cores with a Mali-G615 MC6 GPU, which handles demanding titles at high settings. The 120Hz AMOLED and dual speakers round out the experience, though sustained sessions will warm the frame.
How good is the Poco X6 Pro camera?
The 64MP main camera has optical image stabilisation and takes sharp, well-exposed daylight photos, and OIS also steadies handheld video, which records up to 4K. The 8MP ultrawide is a clear step down in detail and the 2MP macro adds little. It is a solid everyday camera rather than a photographic reason to buy.
How fast does the Poco X6 Pro charge?
It supports 67W wired charging and Xiaomi quotes a full charge of the 5,000mAh battery in around 45 minutes. There is no wireless charging, which is normal at this level.
Does the Poco X6 Pro have a headphone jack or memory card slot?
No to both. The X6 Pro drops the 3.5mm jack and has no microSD slot, so you are limited to the built-in 256GB or 512GB and to wireless or USB-C audio. The standard Poco X6 keeps the headphone jack if that matters to you.
How long will the Poco X6 Pro get software updates?
It launched on Android 14 with HyperOS and is covered for up to three major Android version upgrades. That is a reasonable runway for a mid-range phone, though several rivals now offer longer commitments.
Should I get the Poco X6 Pro or the standard Poco X6?
Both share the same 6.67-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED, 64MP stabilised main camera and 67W charging, so the day-to-day experience is closer than the names suggest. The Pro's advantage is the much faster Dimensity 8300-Ultra chip; the standard X6 counters with a slightly bigger 5,100mAh battery, tougher Gorilla Glass Victus and a headphone jack. Choose the Pro for performance, the standard model for practicality.

Based on main-sensor size (1-inch / 1/1.3" beats 1/2.0"), telephoto reach (periscope > 5x > 3x optical), image processing tier (Apple Pro, Pixel Pro, Galaxy Ultra, Honor Magic Pro, Xiaomi Ultra), pro video features (ProRes, Apple Log, Dolby Vision), camera-partnership branding (Leica, Hasselblad, Zeiss) and OIS. Older flagships are de-rated since image processing pipelines have advanced significantly each generation. Megapixel count is deliberately downweighted — it correlates poorly with real-world camera quality.

Based on battery capacity (mAh) adjusted for platform efficiency calibrated against NotebookCheck, Tom's Guide, GSMArena and CNET reviewer tests. Apple A-series gets +45% (iOS process freezing + LTPO 1Hz + tuned panels make iPhone Pro Max outlast many 6500+ mAh Android phones in measured tests). Top Snapdragon / Dimensity flagships get +15%, budget chipsets are penalised −15% to −25% to reflect less efficient displays and looser background limits. Charging speed is excluded — see the separate Fast charging tag for that.
