About the Xiaomi Poco F7 Pro

The Poco F7 Pro sticks to the formula that made the F-series popular in the UK: last year's flagship processor at a price that undercuts current flagships by a wide margin. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 inside is the same chip that powered 2024's premium Android phones, so games and heavy multitasking are handled with room to spare, and the 6.67-inch LTPS AMOLED panel is a genuine flagship-grade screen at 1440 x 3200 with a 3,200-nit peak. The 6,000mAh battery is the other reason to look at it, since it comfortably outlasts most rivals and refills at 90W. Where Poco has saved money is the camera. There is a capable 50MP main sensor with optical stabilisation, but the 8MP ultrawide is basic and there is no telephoto at all, so zoom and low-light versatility fall short of what similarly specced rivals offer. At 206g it is also a heavy phone. If performance per pound is your priority and photography is secondary, it makes a strong case.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Poco F7 Pro worth buying?
Yes, if you want flagship-level speed without flagship pricing. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, 1440 x 3200 AMOLED display and 6,000mAh battery are all well above what this class normally offers. The compromise is the camera system, which lacks a telephoto lens and pairs the good 50MP main sensor with a basic 8MP ultrawide.
Is the Poco F7 Pro waterproof?
It carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, which covers submersion in fresh water. That is a step up from the splash-resistant ratings common on mid-range phones and matches what most flagships offer.
How long does the Poco F7 Pro battery last?
The 6,000mAh battery is one of the largest in its class and typically delivers well over a full day of heavy use. It supports 90W wired charging, which refills the phone in well under an hour, though there is no wireless charging.
Is the Poco F7 Pro good for gaming?
Yes. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with Adreno 750 graphics runs demanding titles at high settings, and the 120Hz 1440 x 3200 AMOLED display shows them off well. The large 6,000mAh battery also means long sessions do not drain it as fast as thinner rivals.
Is the Poco F7 Pro camera good?
The 50MP main camera with optical stabilisation takes sharp, well-exposed photos in good light and holds up reasonably after dark. The 8MP ultrawide is noticeably weaker, and with no telephoto lens all zoom is digital, so this is not the phone to buy if photography is your main priority.
Should I get the Poco F7 Pro or the Poco F7 Ultra?
They share the same 6.67-inch 1440 x 3200 AMOLED display and IP68 build, so the screen experience is identical. The Ultra moves up to the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, adds a 32MP ultrawide and a 50MP 2.5x telephoto lens, and charges at 120W wired plus 50W wireless. The Pro counters with a larger 6,000mAh battery and a slightly lighter body.

Based on main-sensor size (1-inch / 1/1.3" beats 1/2.0"), telephoto reach (periscope > 5x > 3x optical), image processing tier (Apple Pro, Pixel Pro, Galaxy Ultra, Honor Magic Pro, Xiaomi Ultra), pro video features (ProRes, Apple Log, Dolby Vision), camera-partnership branding (Leica, Hasselblad, Zeiss) and OIS. Older flagships are de-rated since image processing pipelines have advanced significantly each generation. Megapixel count is deliberately downweighted — it correlates poorly with real-world camera quality.

Based on battery capacity (mAh) adjusted for platform efficiency calibrated against NotebookCheck, Tom's Guide, GSMArena and CNET reviewer tests. Apple A-series gets +45% (iOS process freezing + LTPO 1Hz + tuned panels make iPhone Pro Max outlast many 6500+ mAh Android phones in measured tests). Top Snapdragon / Dimensity flagships get +15%, budget chipsets are penalised −15% to −25% to reflect less efficient displays and looser background limits. Charging speed is excluded — see the separate Fast charging tag for that.
