About the Sony Xperia 10 II
The Xperia 10 II is the phone for people who never wanted a slab the width of a paperback. Sony's 21:9 shape means a 6-inch screen sits in a body only 69mm wide and 151g heavy, which makes it one of the easiest modern phones to use one-handed. That tall aspect ratio also suits its purpose: cinema-format films play without letterboxing, and two apps stacked on screen actually get sensible amounts of space each. Sony gave it an OLED panel and IP65/IP68 water resistance, both unusual at this end of the market in 2020, plus a headphone jack and microSD slot. The compromises are just as clear. The Snapdragon 665 was modest at launch and is slow now, the 3,600mAh battery is small by current standards, and the triple 12MP and 8MP camera array is fine in daylight and weak after dark. Software support finished at Android 12, so there are no further security patches. Today it appeals almost entirely on ergonomics: if a narrow, light, water-resistant phone with a proper headphone socket matters more to you than speed, little else comes close.
