About the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is the direct continuation of the Fold7, and the model to buy if you want a foldable that gives nothing away to a conventional flagship. Externally almost nothing has moved: the same 8-inch inner screen and 6.5-inch cover display, the same 215g, the same slim 8.9mm folded profile. The changes are the ones that were actually holding the Fold back. The battery grows to 5,000mAh and charging jumps to 45W, so a device that used to need careful management now comfortably clears a heavy day and refills in a sensible amount of time. The 50MP ultrawide replaces a 12MP sensor that had lagged behind for years, which finally makes the camera system competitive with Samsung's S-series rather than merely acceptable for the money. A sharper inner panel with an anti-reflective coating and a titanium support layer make the crease harder to notice, though running a finger across it still finds the groove. There is still no S Pen support, and the design is now two years old, so this is a substance upgrade rather than a fresh start.

Yes, if you want the most capable foldable available and will genuinely use the 8-inch inner screen. It is expensive and looks near-identical to last year's model, so Fold7 owners can reasonably sit this one out.
What is the difference between the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and the standard Galaxy Z Fold8?
They are different shapes rather than different tiers. The Ultra keeps the traditional tall bookfold layout with an 8-inch inner screen, a 200MP main camera, a 3x telephoto and Flex Mode, while the standard Fold8 is a short, wide phone with a 7.6-inch 4:3 screen, only two cameras and no tabletop Flex Mode.
Does the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra support the S Pen?
No. Samsung dropped stylus support with the Fold7 in order to slim the phone down and has not brought it back for the Fold8 Ultra. If handwriting on the inner screen matters to you, an older Fold or a Galaxy S Ultra is the alternative.
How good is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra camera?
It is the strongest camera system Samsung has put in a foldable, pairing a 200MP main sensor with a 50MP ultrawide and a 10MP 3x telephoto, and it records 8K video. The 50MP ultrawide is the meaningful change, replacing the 12MP sensor used on previous Folds. It still trails the very best dedicated camera phones slightly, but the gap is now small.
How much better is the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra battery than the Fold7?
The cell grows from 4,400mAh to 5,000mAh, roughly 14 percent more capacity, and wired charging goes from 25W to 45W, refilling about two thirds in half an hour.
