About the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 is the most refined clamshell foldable Samsung has produced, pushing the form factor forward with a larger 6.9-inch main display, an edge-to-edge 4.1-inch cover screen, and the new Exynos 2500 processor built on a 3nm process. The expanded cover display is the standout upgrade, increasing usable screen area by 2.2 inches compared to the Flip6, making it genuinely practical for replying to messages, checking notifications, and even running apps without opening the phone. Samsung has reinforced durability with a redesigned Armor FlexHinge and Armor Aluminum frame, while Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects both the cover and back panels. The 50MP main camera benefits from Samsung's ProVisual Engine and enhanced Nightography for noticeably better low-light shots, and the 4,300mAh dual-cell battery addresses one of the biggest criticisms of previous Flip models. Running Android 16 with One UI 8, the Z Flip7 delivers the full Galaxy AI experience in a pocketable package that folds in half. For buyers drawn to the flip phone revival, this generation finally feels like it has closed most of the compromises.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 worth buying?
Yes, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is the strongest clamshell foldable Samsung has made. The larger 4.1-inch edge-to-edge cover screen is genuinely useful, the Exynos 2500 chip on 3nm delivers excellent performance and efficiency, and the bigger 4,300mAh battery addresses previous stamina concerns. If you like the flip form factor, this is the generation where most compromises have been resolved.
How durable is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7?
Samsung has significantly improved durability with the redesigned Armor FlexHinge, an Armor Aluminum frame, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protecting the cover and rear panels. The hinge mechanism is rated for hundreds of thousands of folds. While it is more resilient than previous generations, foldable phones still require slightly more care than traditional slab designs.
What can you do on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 cover screen?
The 4.1-inch edge-to-edge Super AMOLED cover screen with 120Hz refresh rate supports a wide range of functions without opening the phone. You can reply to messages, check and manage notifications, control music, use Samsung Pay, take selfies with the rear camera, and run compatible apps. It is a meaningful step up from the smaller cover displays on earlier Flip models.
How good is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 camera?
The Galaxy Z Flip7 features a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation and a 12MP ultrawide sensor. Samsung's ProVisual Engine and enhanced Nightography processing deliver crisp, vivid photos across lighting conditions. The flip design also lets you use the rear cameras for higher-quality selfies via the cover screen viewfinder.
What colours does the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 come in?
The Galaxy Z Flip7 is available in four colours: Blue Shadow, Jetblack, Coral Red, and Mint. The Mint colour is exclusive to purchases made directly through Samsung.com.
How long does the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 battery last?
The Galaxy Z Flip7 has a 4,300mAh dual-cell battery, which is a notable increase over the Flip6. Combined with the efficient 3nm Exynos 2500 chipset, most users can expect comfortable all-day battery life with moderate use. It supports fast wired charging and wireless charging for convenient top-ups.
How does the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 compare to the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE?
The Z Flip7 upgrades over the FE in several key areas: a larger 4.1-inch edge-to-edge cover screen versus 3.4 inches, the newer 3nm Exynos 2500 chip versus Exynos 2400, 12GB RAM versus 8GB, and a bigger 4,300mAh battery versus 4,000mAh. The main display is also larger at 6.9 inches versus 6.7. The Z Flip7 starts at £1,049 SIM-free, so the FE is the better value if the smaller cover screen and older chip are acceptable trade-offs. Based on panel type (LTPO is the modern flagship gold standard), resolution, refresh rate, peak brightness, screen size, and HDR10+ / Dolby Vision support. Marketing peak-brightness claims are capped at 3500 nits to prevent inflation.

Based on main-sensor size (1-inch / 1/1.3" beats 1/2.0"), telephoto reach (periscope > 5x > 3x optical), image processing tier (Apple Pro, Pixel Pro, Galaxy Ultra, Honor Magic Pro, Xiaomi Ultra), pro video features (ProRes, Apple Log, Dolby Vision), camera-partnership branding (Leica, Hasselblad, Zeiss) and OIS. Older flagships are de-rated since image processing pipelines have advanced significantly each generation. Megapixel count is deliberately downweighted — it correlates poorly with real-world camera quality. Where DXOMARK has lab-tested the phone, its measured score replaces this estimate.

Based on battery capacity (mAh) adjusted for platform efficiency calibrated against NotebookCheck, Tom's Guide, GSMArena and CNET reviewer tests. Apple A-series gets +45% (iOS process freezing + LTPO 1Hz + tuned panels make iPhone Pro Max outlast many 6500+ mAh Android phones in measured tests). Top Snapdragon / Dimensity flagships get +15%, budget chipsets are penalised −15% to −25% to reflect less efficient displays and looser background limits. Charging speed is excluded — see the separate Fast charging tag for that.
