The dual 12MP camera with its switchable f/1.5 and f/2.4 aperture was Samsung's answer to low-light shooting and still produces likeable images in good conditions, though it lacks the ultrawide and computational processing that newer mid-rangers take for granted. The catch is software. Android updates stopped at Android 10 with One UI 2.5 and security patches have long since ended, which matters if you use banking apps or store sensitive data. Battery health on a phone this age is also a lottery, so a refurbished unit with a replaced cell is worth seeking out. It is a specialist buy rather than a sensible default.
