The Galaxy M02 sits right at the bottom of Samsung's range, and it is best understood as a rebadged Galaxy A02 built for buyers who want a big screen, a big battery and Samsung's software at the lowest possible outlay. The 6.5-inch LCD is HD+ rather than full HD, so text and video look softer than on pricier phones, but the panel is large enough for reading and streaming and the 5,000mAh battery behind it can stretch to two days when the phone is only handling calls, messaging and the odd video. Expectations need managing elsewhere. The entry-level MediaTek quad-core chip with 2GB or 3GB of RAM will keep up with WhatsApp, calls and light browsing but not much beyond that, charging is very slow at under 8W, and the dual camera is a 13MP main sensor with a 2MP depth helper rather than anything versatile. What it does keep are the basics budget buyers actually use: a headphone jack, microSD expansion and One UI Core, which is simpler and lighter than full One UI.
