The Samsung Galaxy A23 was the 4G member of Samsung's 2022 mid-range A series, and it made a decent case for itself by getting the basics right. The 6.6-inch Full HD+ screen is sharp and runs at 90Hz, which is more than most phones at this level managed, and Gorilla Glass 5 covers it. The 50MP main camera is optically stabilised, a feature Samsung usually reserved for pricier models, and it makes a real difference to handheld low-light shots and video steadiness. Battery life is the strong suit, with a 5,000mAh cell and an efficient Snapdragon 680 that comfortably clears a full day. The compromises are predictable: the Snapdragon 680 is deliberately modest, so heavy games struggle, the ultrawide, macro and depth cameras are largely filler, and there is no 5G at all. Software is now the deciding factor. Samsung promised two Android upgrades and four years of security updates, and that window closed in 2026, so this is a phone for someone who wants a dependable, familiar handset rather than a long-term investment.
