The Samsung Galaxy A03 Core sits right at the bottom of Samsung's range, and it is refreshingly honest about what it is: a phone for calls, messages, maps and the occasional video clip. It runs Android 11 Go edition rather than full One UI, which is the sensible call given 2GB of RAM, because the lightweight Google apps and trimmed-back interface keep things moving where a standard build would stutter. The 6.5-inch HD+ LCD is generously large for this end of the market and perfectly readable indoors, though it is neither sharp nor especially bright, and the single 8MP rear camera manages daylight snaps and not much beyond that. Endurance is the genuine strength here: a 5,000mAh battery paired with a low-power Unisoc chip and an undemanding screen will see out two days of light use without complaint. The compromises are real, though. Charging is slow over microUSB rather than USB-C, and 32GB of storage fills up quickly unless you add a microSD card. Launched at the end of 2021, its software support window has now closed, so it makes far more sense as a spare or first phone than as your main handset.
