About the OnePlus Open
The OnePlus Open was the company's first foldable and it solved the problem that made early book-style folds awkward: the outside screen. At 6.31 inches with a normal 20:9 shape, the cover display works exactly like a regular phone, so you are not forced to unfold the device for everyday tasks the way you were on rival foldables of the era. Open it and you get a 7.82-inch, almost-square panel with one of the least visible creases of its generation and a genuinely usable split-screen system. The camera set is unusually serious for a folding phone, with a 48MP main sensor, a 64MP 3x telephoto and a 48MP ultrawide rather than the downgraded modules foldables often carry. The trade-offs are real: there is no wireless charging, and IPX4 covers splashes but not immersion, which is weaker than what Samsung offered at the time. It is heavy at 239g and comes in one 16GB/512GB configuration. For anyone who wants a big-screen foldable that still behaves like a phone when closed, it holds up well.
