About the OnePlus Nord N10 5G

The OnePlus Nord N10 5G was OnePlus's first serious attempt at a genuinely cheap 5G phone for the UK, and five years on it is a handset you buy for what it costs rather than what it does. The Snapdragon 690 still handles messaging, maps, banking apps and streaming without complaint, and the 90Hz refresh rate makes scrolling feel smoother than this price bracket normally allows. The trade-off is the panel itself: it is an LCD, so blacks look grey next to the AMOLED screens Samsung was fitting to similarly priced handsets at the time. The 64MP main camera takes respectable daylight photos, but the ultrawide, macro and depth lenses alongside it are largely there to pad the spec sheet. Where the N10 holds up best is the practical stuff, with 30W charging that refills the 4,300mAh battery quickly, a headphone jack, and microSD expansion so the 128GB is not a hard ceiling. The real caveat is software: OnePlus stopped updates at Android 11, so it no longer receives security patches.

Frequently asked questions

Is the OnePlus Nord N10 5G worth buying?
Only as a low-cost spare, second phone or first handset for a child. The hardware is still perfectly usable for calls, messaging and streaming, but OnePlus ended software support at Android 11 so it receives no further security patches, which makes it a poor choice as a main phone for banking or shopping.
Does the OnePlus Nord N10 5G have a headphone jack?
Yes. The Nord N10 5G keeps a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom edge alongside the USB-C port, which is something the pricier OnePlus 8T dropped that same year. It also has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor rather than an in-display reader.
Can you add a microSD card to the OnePlus Nord N10 5G?
Yes, the Nord N10 5G supports microSD expansion, so the 128GB of built-in UFS 2.1 storage can be topped up with a card for photos, music and offline video. The phone shipped in a single 6GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration in the UK.
How long does the OnePlus Nord N10 5G battery last and how fast does it charge?
The 4,300mAh battery comfortably covers a day of ordinary use, though the 90Hz LCD panel is less efficient than an AMOLED equivalent. Charging is the strong point: the bundled 30W Warp Charge adapter refills it far quicker than most budget rivals of its era, which typically shipped with 10W or 15W bricks.
Is the OnePlus Nord N10 5G camera good?
The 64MP main sensor produces decent, detailed photos in good daylight, and there is a usable 8MP ultrawide for landscapes and group shots. The 5MP depth and 2MP macro lenses add very little, and low-light performance falls away sharply compared with modern budget phones. Video tops out at 4K on the main camera.
What is the difference between the OnePlus Nord N10 5G and the OnePlus Nord N100?
The N10 5G is the faster of the two: it adds 5G, a sharper 1080p 90Hz display, a Snapdragon 690 chip, a 64MP main camera and 30W charging. The N100 is 4G only with a 720p screen, a Snapdragon 460 and 18W charging, but it carries a larger 5,000mAh battery. Compare OnePlus Nord N100 deals if battery life matters more to you than speed.

Based on main-sensor size (1-inch / 1/1.3" beats 1/2.0"), telephoto reach (periscope > 5x > 3x optical), image processing tier (Apple Pro, Pixel Pro, Galaxy Ultra, Honor Magic Pro, Xiaomi Ultra), pro video features (ProRes, Apple Log, Dolby Vision), camera-partnership branding (Leica, Hasselblad, Zeiss) and OIS. Older flagships are de-rated since image processing pipelines have advanced significantly each generation. Megapixel count is deliberately downweighted — it correlates poorly with real-world camera quality.

Based on battery capacity (mAh) adjusted for platform efficiency calibrated against NotebookCheck, Tom's Guide, GSMArena and CNET reviewer tests. Apple A-series gets +45% (iOS process freezing + LTPO 1Hz + tuned panels make iPhone Pro Max outlast many 6500+ mAh Android phones in measured tests). Top Snapdragon / Dimensity flagships get +15%, budget chipsets are penalised −15% to −25% to reflect less efficient displays and looser background limits. Charging speed is excluded — see the separate Fast charging tag for that.
