About the OnePlus Nord 2 5G
The Nord 2 5G was the point at which OnePlus's mid-range line stopped feeling like a compromise. Switching from Qualcomm to MediaTek's Dimensity 1200 gave it genuine flagship-adjacent speed, and the 50MP main camera borrowed from the OnePlus 9 Pro was a far bigger jump than the spec sheet suggests, adding optical stabilisation and much better low-light results than any previous Nord. The 6.43-inch AMOLED panel is compact by modern standards and still looks excellent, and 65W Warp Charge refills the 4,500mAh battery in around half an hour, which remains a genuinely useful convenience. OnePlus also kept the alert slider, a small thing owners tend to miss on other brands. The concessions are the usual mid-range ones: no headphone jack, no microSD, no official IP rating, and an ultrawide and 2MP auxiliary camera that are clearly there to support the main sensor rather than match it. Five years on it still feels quick day to day, but it launched on Android 11 and no longer receives updates, which is the main reason to weigh it against something newer.

The catch is software: it shipped on Android 11 and is now outside its update window, so it is best as a secondary phone or a short-term buy rather than a device to keep for years.
How good is the OnePlus Nord 2 5G camera?
The 50MP main camera uses the same Sony IMX766 sensor as the OnePlus 9 Pro's ultrawide, complete with optical stabilisation, and it delivers detailed daytime shots and respectable low-light photos for a mid-range phone. The 8MP ultrawide is much weaker, and the 2MP auxiliary sensor adds little. The 32MP selfie camera is a strong point.

Very fast. 65W Warp Charge refills the 4,500mAh battery from empty in roughly half an hour with the bundled charger. There is no wireless charging, which is normal at this level.
