About the Nokia G21
The Nokia G21 is the point where HMD's budget line stopped feeling sluggish. Swapping MediaTek's ageing Helio chips for the Unisoc T606 gave it noticeably more headroom than the G20, and adding a 90Hz refresh rate made scrolling look smoother than the HD+ resolution has any right to. Those two changes together are what buyers actually notice. The 5,050mAh battery carries over and still delivers the long runtimes the G-series is known for, now with 18W charging support rather than the previous 10W ceiling, though the charger in the box is the slower one. Nokia also traded the G20's 5MP ultrawide for a 50MP main sensor, which sharpens everyday daylight photos but removes the wide-angle option entirely, a swap that will annoy some people. It is slimmer and lighter than the G20 too. Its two Android upgrades and three years of security patches have now run their course, so as a 2022 phone it belongs in the cheap-and-cheerful or second-device bracket rather than as your primary handset.
