About the Nokia G10

The Nokia G10 was HMD's pitch for the patient buyer: pay very little, get three days between charges, and accept that everything happens slightly slower than you would like. The 5,050mAh battery is the headline and it earns it, easily clearing two days of light use and a full day of heavy use. Around it sits a clean, near-stock version of Android with none of the duplicate apps and adverts that clutter rival budget phones, which is a real quality-of-life advantage. The catch is the MediaTek Helio G25, a genuinely slow chip even by 2021 budget standards, so app launches drag and gaming is limited to the undemanding stuff. The 6.52-inch HD+ screen is large and perfectly readable but not sharp, and the 13MP triple camera does daylight snaps and little else. It received its promised two Android upgrades and three years of security patches, all of which have now expired. Today it is worth a look only as a cheap, long-lasting handset for someone whose demands are modest and whose patience is not.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Nokia G10 worth buying?
It is worth buying only if battery life and a clean Android interface matter more to you than speed. The 5,050mAh battery is excellent and the software is uncluttered, but the Helio G25 chip is slow and the phone is now outside its security update window. Anyone who multitasks or games should spend a little more.
How long does the Nokia G10 battery last?
The 5,050mAh battery typically lasts two days with light use and comfortably a full day with heavier use, helped by the low-resolution HD+ screen and lightweight software. Charging is limited to 10W, so refilling it takes a few hours.
Is the Nokia G10 camera good?
It is basic. The triple setup pairs a 13MP main camera with 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensors, which produces decent daylight photos but noisy, soft results indoors and at night. Video maxes out at 1080p at 30fps.
Does the Nokia G10 support 5G?
No. The Nokia G10 is a 4G-only phone that works on all UK networks, and it also lacks NFC, so contactless payments through Google Wallet are not possible. The Nokia G20 is the closest sibling that does include NFC. Compare Nokia G20 deals.
Does the Nokia G10 have a headphone jack and microSD slot?
Yes. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microSD slot to expand the 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor built into the power button.
How long will the Nokia G10 receive updates?
It is no longer supported. The G10 launched on Android 11 with HMD's promise of two OS upgrades and three years of monthly security patches, taking it to Android 13, and that window closed some time ago. Treat it as a secondary device rather than the phone holding your banking apps.

Based on main-sensor size (1-inch / 1/1.3" beats 1/2.0"), telephoto reach (periscope > 5x > 3x optical), image processing tier (Apple Pro, Pixel Pro, Galaxy Ultra, Honor Magic Pro, Xiaomi Ultra), pro video features (ProRes, Apple Log, Dolby Vision), camera-partnership branding (Leica, Hasselblad, Zeiss) and OIS. Older flagships are de-rated since image processing pipelines have advanced significantly each generation. Megapixel count is deliberately downweighted — it correlates poorly with real-world camera quality.

Based on battery capacity (mAh) adjusted for platform efficiency calibrated against NotebookCheck, Tom's Guide, GSMArena and CNET reviewer tests. Apple A-series gets +45% (iOS process freezing + LTPO 1Hz + tuned panels make iPhone Pro Max outlast many 6500+ mAh Android phones in measured tests). Top Snapdragon / Dimensity flagships get +15%, budget chipsets are penalised −15% to −25% to reflect less efficient displays and looser background limits. Charging speed is excluded — see the separate Fast charging tag for that.
