The Nokia 105 is the original 2013 version of what became Nokia's most enduring basic phone, and it is about as stripped back as a mobile gets. A 1.45-inch colour screen, a keypad, an FM radio and a phonebook are the whole feature set - there is no camera, no Bluetooth and no memory card slot. That minimalism is the point. With nothing running in the background, the 800mAh battery stretches across days rather than hours, and at 70g the phone is small enough to forget about until you need it. Two things are worth knowing before buying. It is a 2G handset, so it relies on UK networks continuing to run 2G services, which operators have agreed to maintain until 2033, and it charges over an old proprietary connector rather than microUSB, so keeping the right charger matters. Because this generation is long discontinued, stock is refurbished or old-new-stock, and later versions of the 105 offer a bigger screen and modern charging. Buy this one as a true emergency handset.
