About the Motorola Moto G37

The Moto G37 is Motorola's take on the sensible budget phone: it spends its money on the things that keep a cheap handset usable for years rather than on a spec-sheet headline. You get a large 6.67-inch 120Hz screen, a 5,200mAh battery that comfortably clears a day and a half of ordinary use on paper, and a build that carries an IP64 rating plus MIL-STD-810H drop testing, which is unusual at this end of the market. Motorola has also kept the practical extras budget buyers actually miss elsewhere: a microSD slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack, stereo speakers and a near-stock Android 16 build with very little bloat. The trade-off is resolution. The panel is only HD+, so text and photos look softer than on the FHD+ screens you find a tier up, and the single 50MP rear camera has no ultrawide companion. Performance from the Dimensity 6300 is fine for messaging, streaming and light games, but it is not a phone for heavy multitasking. Independent UK review coverage of this particular model is still thin, so judge it on its launch specification.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Motorola Moto G37 worth buying?
Yes, if your priorities are battery life, durability and a clean Android experience rather than screen sharpness or camera versatility. The 5,200mAh battery, IP64 rating and MIL-STD-810H testing make it a sturdy everyday phone. If you read a lot or watch video, the HD+ panel is the compromise you need to be comfortable with.
Does the Motorola Moto G37 have 5G?
Yes. The Moto G37 supports sub-6GHz 5G through the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, covering the main UK 5G bands including n1, n3, n28, n77 and n78. It also has dual nano-SIM support.
Does the Motorola Moto G37 have a headphone jack and microSD slot?
Yes to both. There is a 3.5mm headset jack alongside stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning, and storage can be expanded by up to 1TB with a microSD card on top of the 128GB built in. That combination is increasingly rare, even on budget phones.
How good is the Motorola Moto G37 camera?
It is a single 50MP f/1.8 main camera with Quad Pixel binning and an 8MP selfie camera, so it handles daylight shots and social posts well enough. There is no ultrawide or telephoto lens, and video tops out at 2K 30fps, so it is a step behind mid-range rivals for versatility.
How long will the Motorola Moto G37 get software updates?
It ships with Android 16 and Motorola has it down for one major platform upgrade, taking it to Android 17, plus ongoing security patches. That is typical for the budget Moto G line but shorter than the four to six years several rivals now offer.
Should I get the Motorola Moto G37 or the Moto G67?
Both use the same Dimensity 6300 chipset, so day-to-day speed is similar. The Moto G67 adds a much better 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen, faster 30W charging, an ultrawide camera and a 32MP selfie camera, while the G37 undercuts it with a plain HD+ LCD. Choose the G37 for the essentials and the G67 if screen quality matters to you.

Based on main-sensor size (1-inch / 1/1.3" beats 1/2.0"), telephoto reach (periscope > 5x > 3x optical), image processing tier (Apple Pro, Pixel Pro, Galaxy Ultra, Honor Magic Pro, Xiaomi Ultra), pro video features (ProRes, Apple Log, Dolby Vision), camera-partnership branding (Leica, Hasselblad, Zeiss) and OIS. Older flagships are de-rated since image processing pipelines have advanced significantly each generation. Megapixel count is deliberately downweighted — it correlates poorly with real-world camera quality.

Based on battery capacity (mAh) adjusted for platform efficiency calibrated against NotebookCheck, Tom's Guide, GSMArena and CNET reviewer tests. Apple A-series gets +45% (iOS process freezing + LTPO 1Hz + tuned panels make iPhone Pro Max outlast many 6500+ mAh Android phones in measured tests). Top Snapdragon / Dimensity flagships get +15%, budget chipsets are penalised −15% to −25% to reflect less efficient displays and looser background limits. Charging speed is excluded — see the separate Fast charging tag for that.
