About the Motorola Moto G05
The Moto G05 sits right at the bottom of Motorola's range and makes its case through stamina rather than spec-sheet drama. The 5,200mAh battery is unusually large for an entry-level handset and, paired with a 720p screen and the modest Helio G81 Extreme chip, it routinely delivers two days between charges. Motorola also does the small things well here: near-stock Android 15 without a heavy skin, a vegan leather back that resists fingerprints far better than glossy plastic, a headphone jack and microSD expansion up to 1TB. The compromises are equally clear. The 6.67-inch display runs at 90Hz but only HD+, so text never looks crisp, and it dims in bright sunlight. There is no NFC, which rules out contactless payments, and no 5G. The single 50MP camera is fine in daylight and unremarkable elsewhere. As a first smartphone, a spare, or a phone for someone who mostly calls, messages and scrolls, it does the job without fuss.
