About the Honor X7b

The Honor X7b is built around one idea: endurance. Its 6,000mAh battery is larger than almost anything else in the budget class, and paired with a modest Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chip it will see most people through two days rather than one. Honor also fitted 35W SuperCharge, so unlike most cheap phones with big batteries it does not take half a day to refill. The 6.8-inch LCD is large, sharp enough at Full HD+ and runs at 90Hz, which is a meaningful step up from the low-resolution panels used by many rivals, and it gets bright enough to stay readable outdoors. The 108MP main camera sounds impressive and behaves like a competent budget sensor, capturing plenty of detail in daylight and losing its way indoors, with a 5MP ultrawide and 2MP depth sensor filling out the array. The Snapdragon 680 is a 4G-only chip, so there is no 5G here at all, and MagicOS ships with more preinstalled apps than most people want. As a long-lasting, big-screened everyday phone, though, it makes a strong case.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Honor X7b worth buying?
The Honor X7b is worth buying if battery life is your priority. The 6,000mAh cell combined with an efficient Snapdragon 680 gives it two-day endurance that few budget phones match, and 35W charging means quick top-ups. The catches are the lack of 5G and performance that is fine for everyday tasks but not for gaming.
Does the Honor X7b support 5G?
No. The Honor X7b uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680, which is a 4G LTE-only chipset, so it cannot connect to 5G networks on any UK operator. If 5G matters to you, this is the single biggest reason to look elsewhere.
How long does the Honor X7b battery last?
The 6,000mAh battery is one of the largest fitted to a budget phone and routinely lasts two days of moderate use. It also supports 35W SuperCharge, which is unusually fast for this price bracket and means a meaningful top-up in a short break.
Is the Honor X7b camera good?
It is decent for the money in good light. The 108MP main sensor captures a lot of detail outdoors and its high resolution allows some cropping, but photos get noisy in dim conditions and there is no telephoto. The 5MP ultrawide is much softer than the main camera and the 2MP depth sensor only assists with portrait blur.
How does the Honor X7b compare to the Honor X7a?
The X7b is a significant upgrade. It moves to a sharper Full HD+ 6.8-inch 90Hz display from the X7a's HD+ panel, swaps the entry-level MediaTek Helio G37 for a considerably faster Snapdragon 680, and jumps from a 50MP to a 108MP main camera while keeping the same 6,000mAh battery capacity.
Does the Honor X7b have a headphone jack and microSD slot?
Yes to both. The X7b keeps a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired earphones and has a microSD slot to expand on the 128GB or 256GB of built-in storage. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint reader built into the power button.

Based on main-sensor size (1-inch / 1/1.3" beats 1/2.0"), telephoto reach (periscope > 5x > 3x optical), image processing tier (Apple Pro, Pixel Pro, Galaxy Ultra, Honor Magic Pro, Xiaomi Ultra), pro video features (ProRes, Apple Log, Dolby Vision), camera-partnership branding (Leica, Hasselblad, Zeiss) and OIS. Older flagships are de-rated since image processing pipelines have advanced significantly each generation. Megapixel count is deliberately downweighted — it correlates poorly with real-world camera quality.

Based on battery capacity (mAh) adjusted for platform efficiency calibrated against NotebookCheck, Tom's Guide, GSMArena and CNET reviewer tests. Apple A-series gets +45% (iOS process freezing + LTPO 1Hz + tuned panels make iPhone Pro Max outlast many 6500+ mAh Android phones in measured tests). Top Snapdragon / Dimensity flagships get +15%, budget chipsets are penalised −15% to −25% to reflect less efficient displays and looser background limits. Charging speed is excluded — see the separate Fast charging tag for that.
